Two weeks ago, the Philadelphia Eagles fell flat against the New York Giants, 34-17. Fast forward to this Sunday, and it was payback time at Lincoln Financial Field. A 38-20 statement win flipped the script completely. And right after the game, the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had something to say to his teammates.

After the game, Hurts made it clear what he expects from his squad moving forward. “I don’t think there’s anything we can’t do,” he said, adding, “The best is yet to come.” Coming from the leader of a 6-2 team, those words carry weight. And their recent displays suggest they can prove Hurts right.

In the rematch, they racked up 276 rushing yards, while Hurts delivered four touchdown passes with surgical precision. Even more impressive, he has thrown seven touchdowns over the past two weeks. But he wasn’t the only one making an impact.

Saquon Barkley exploded for a 65-yard touchdown on just the second snap, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Before leaving with a groin injury, he had already racked up 150 yards on 14 carries, plus four catches for 24 yards and another score. Then backup Tank Bigsby stepped in and didn’t skip a beat.

He rushed for 104 yards on nine carries, helping Philly average a jaw-dropping 8.4 yards per attempt. And Jalen Hurts couldn’t hide his pride afterward.

“Man, those guys up front, they played their tails off,” Hurts said. “Saquon being Saquon, when he had those opportunities, he made the most of them and took advantage of them. Tank coming in and running as hard as he did.”

With a season-high 38 points and 427 total yards, this was the Eagles’ most complete offensive showing of 2025. However, here’s a twist: Hurts isn’t the only one who has things to say.

Philadelphia Eagles took a shot at the Giants

Let’s go back to Week 6, when the Giants got the better of the Philadelphia Eagles. That loss stung, and the Giants made sure it did. Right after the game, the Giants’ social team couldn’t resist a little dig.

They posted a meme using the same iconic text style from the hit FX show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia with the caption, “The gang had a long drive home.” The City of Brotherly Love didn’t find it funny then, but as fate would have it, payback was coming. Because in Week 8, the Eagles remembered. And this time, they got their shot.

The Eagles’ social media team went full petty mode and replied to that old Giants tweet. The post? A GIF of a guy in a car throwing stuff at a cyclist in front of him. A playful but pointed reminder that Philly never forgets.

Now at 6-2, the Eagles get to breathe a little. Their next matchup comes after the Week 9 bye, when they’ll take on the Green Bay Packers under the Monday night lights. And Jalen Hurts? He’s keeping it chill but focused.

“Obviously, a big time for us is always going into the bye week,” Hurts said, “and being able to assess that and have a reset a bit and build forward.”

Let’s see how Hurts and the Birds carry this energy into the coming weeks.
