The Philadelphia Eagles walked out feeling more frustrated than shocked after their Week 12 collapse against the Dallas Cowboys. Early on, they moved the ball and controlled the pace. But suddenly, everything went sideways, and they lost 24-21. And in the post-game presser, Nick Sirianni didn’t sugarcoat anything.

“Uncharacteristic of us, obviously. You have to put that on me. When it’s stuff like that, we spend time going over, obviously, I got to get my message across better. That’s got to be on me. We’ll fix the things we need to fix technique-wise, look-wise, but we’ve got to master the things that require no talent.”
Meanwhile, the biggest issue for the Eagles was discipline. Or rather, the lack of it. They racked up 14 penalties throughout the game. It was the most flags since Sirianni’s first season. And clearly, the head coach hated every second of it.

Afterward, Nick Sirianni also pointed to the difference in adjustments. The Cowboys made theirs at halftime. The Eagles didn’t.

“I’m not going to make any sweeping judgments right this particular time. I think it was a wide variety of things. At the end of the day, we didn’t coach well enough. We didn’t play well enough. When there’s the amount of mistakes that we had, some of the self-inflicted wounds that we had today, I’m always going to put that on me as a head coach. Because it’s something we talk about a lot, and I’ve got to make sure my message is getting through.”

That was Sirianni taking full responsibility, even when it clearly wasn’t only on him. And the imbalance on offense added fuel to the frustration. Philadelphia ran the ball just 18 times and threw it 39 times. Even worse, Saquon Barkley handled 10 of those carries and finished with only 22 yards.
As a result, Sirianni also called out Jalen Hurts’ offense.

Nick Sirianni talks about offensive problems
The Eagles’ loss can be termed a ‘collapse.’ They dominated the first half and looked like a well-prepared team. The offense moved fast. The defense kept the Cowboys searching. But then the second half hit, and everything flipped for the Birds.
Then the real problems surfaced. Philadelphia stopped attacking downfield, and the wideouts barely influenced the game after halftime. The rhythm vanished. The mistakes piled up. Turnovers on offense and special teams hurt them even more. That combination crushed their huge lead, and it happened in a game that mattered for every Philly fan. Add to that the late 4th quarter sack on Hurts, and the Cowboys officially shot the Eagles down.

“We just weren’t very efficient as an offense in the second half. I didn’t really feel that we took our foot off the gas.”
And Jalen Hurts backed that up and admitted he did not do enough. He threw for 289 yards with a touchdown and added 33 rushing yards with two rushing scores. Still, he said they must learn how to close games.

“We gotta find a way to finish the game. We didn’t play a complete game. Today, it got us. We played a hell of a first half. We didn’t play close to our standard in the second half.”
Now the Eagles sit at 8-3. And Sirianni knows they must adjust fast before facing Chicago on Friday.
