Game Odds: Over-under, point spread
The Philadelphia Eagles are favored by around 3.5 to 4.5 points heading into Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Experts expect a competitive game, with the over/under total set at approximately 43.5 points. Despite the Eagles’ offensive inefficiency, their strong defense has kept them ahead in close games.
As such, the Eagles are expected to win by a margin of a field goal but less than a touchdown. The Broncos, coming off a strong defensive showing and a bounce-back win, will challenge fiercely but face an uphill battle on the road.

- They average 4.17 yards per play, the lowest by any 4-0 team since 1941.
- Despite offensive inefficiency, key offensive players like Jalen Hurts (PFF grade 75.3) and Jordan Mailata (86.5) have been standouts.

Players to look at
Philadelphia Eagles: Key Players
Philadelphia is still relying on quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has passed for 609 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions, and contributed 179 rushing yards along with four touchdowns on the ground. His dual-threat nature remains a thorn for opposing defenses.
Even when not in full rhythm, running back Saquon Barkley has added 237 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
DeVonta Smith leads the passing game with 17 receptions for 158 yards and one touchdown. Dallas Goedert has become a red-zone threat, recording 12 receptions for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
Defensively, Zack Baun has been Philadelphia’s top physical playmaker with 30 tackles, one sack, and one interception. Rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell has also impressed, tallying 17 tackles and showing strong coverage instincts.
Denver Broncos: Key Players
Quarterback Bo Nix has shown promise, throwing for 861 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions while completing 65.7% of his passes. He has also added 78 rushing yards and one touchdown, showcasing his athleticism.
Running back J.K. Dobbins continues to anchor Denver’s ground game. He ranks fifth in the league with 323 rushing yards and three touchdowns, averaging 80.8 yards per game.
Wide receiver Courtland Sutton has been Nix’s go-to target, catching 18 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns, and performing well in the red zone.
RJ Harvey adds explosiveness to the offense, contributing 138 rushing yards, 69 receiving yards, and one touchdown, offering another dynamic wrinkle for Denver.
On defense, Nik Bonitto has dominated off the edge with 4.5 sacks and five tackles for loss. Linebacker Alex Singleton remains a tackling machine, leading the team with 38 tackles through four games.
Injury report
The Denver Broncos enter Week 5 in good health, with only one confirmed absence. Tight end Lucas Krull is out due to a foot injury and did not practice this week. Offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz returned to practice after missing time last week. Tight end Nate Adkins has cleared concussion protocol, and wide receiver Marvin Mims has been a consistent contributor with 12 catches for 109 yards and one touchdown this season. He was a full participant after recovering from a hip issue.
For the Philadelphia Eagles, the outlook is equally promising. Tight end Dallas Goedert practiced for the first time since dealing with a minor knee issue. The offense also received good news as Jalen Carter (shoulder), Adoree’ Jackson (groin), and Lane Johnson (shoulder) were all listed as full participants. Linebacker Nakobe Dean remained limited in practice and will not dress this week. Backup tight end Grant Calcaterra did not practice due to illness, which puts his availability in doubt.
ES staff predictions
The Eagles are entering this matchup as clear favorites, but our analysts expect a competitive game.
Tim Wood, NFL Content Chief, notes that if this game were being played in Denver, the Eagles might be facing their first loss. However, he doesn’t see that happening this week and predicts a 28-17 win for Philadelphia.

Abhisek Singh, NFL Content Manager, agrees that Denver’s defense could make things interesting. Still, he expects Jalen Hurts’ dual-threat ability to tip the scales, forecasting a 23-20 win for the Eagles.
