“She’s a sports commentator, TV personality, and she’s hosting all week … It’s Erin Andrews! For years, the NFL world has grown used to seeing Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews on the gridiron sidelines. And since 2022, they have practically become household names with their Calm Down Podcast. Throughout their journeys, both of these dynamic personalities have been outspoken about their support and love for each other. But as their careers take on new directions, the Fox besties are making some new friends along their way.

Charissa Thompson continues to make her mark on the sports community with Thursday Night Football. She’s doubling down in her efforts with Amazon. She even showed up to the latest Amazon Upfront presentation with a star-studded gang that included the Kelce brothers, Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Andrew Whitworth. Fellow reporters Taylor Rooks and Kaylee Hartung were in the mix, too. And while Charissa is making splashes with the Amazon community, Erin Andrews is making her way through a new career move as well. And she’s doing it with a new favorite partner by her side.

Erin Andrews dropped an IG carousel celebrating her time with the popular daytime talk show Today with Jenna & Friends. The Carousel shows us candid moments from the show, with Erin smiling wide with Jenna Bush Hager right next to her. The caption? “No better teammate than this gal right here! Thank you @jennabhager and @jennaandfriends for the best week.” Andrews joined the Jenna & Friends team as their newest co-host for the week, and Erin was visibly thrilled to be a part of the show. But as Erin declares Hager as “no better teammate”, one has to ask: what about Charissa?

The Fox besties did not have a fallout. Their Calm Down podcast continues to drop weekly gold nuggets of life behind the scenes for these two sportscasters. And they are constantly hyping each other up in their socials. So this is simply Erin celebrating the newest feather in her career hat, with another dynamic personality she has befriended. While Erin makes her mark with Hager, Charissa is also turning up the heat with her rapidly growing Amazon fam. Both of them are stepping into the limelight again in a big way, and neither of them is done with Fox Sports. But Fox, or no Fox, Andrews and Thompson’s careers continue to diversify endlessly.

Erin Andrews & Charissa Thompson – Amazon, Fox, and more…

Charissa isn’t done with Fox. Both her and Erin Andrews’ contracts expired with Fox after the last Super Bowl. Since there hasn’t been any official word from Fox for their continuation, fans were quick to notice and speculate ‘what now?’ But Charissa had silenced all the rumors once and for all in a recent Calm Down episode. “I’m not leaving Fox. I was never leaving Fox. I’m not fired. Fox is my longest relationship. I have worked there since I was what 22 years old, starting in the HR department. So yes, I love Fox.” And that was that. Charissa wasn’t leaving Fox. But cut to May, that question is popping up again.

As Fox unveiled its 2025 NFL schedule, they did it with utmost style. With Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Kevin Burkhardt, Greg Olsen, and, of course, Erin Andrews. Fox didn’t need to roll out a statement to say Erin Andrews is back. They let Andrews announce it herself with a subtle, “We need to carry all of this momentum into this upcoming season.” But through it all, Charissa Thompson’s absence could be felt strongly. After all, Erin and Charissa were almost synonymous when it came to Fox Sports’ NFL broadcasts. You couldn’t have one without the other. So where was Thompson? Well, she was in New York, making new friends and cementing her future with Amazon.

Amazon Prime Videos has been driving itself fast to make a big impact in the sports broadcasting industry. It’s no longer just TV channels and the gridiron. The entire sports world’s move to streaming platforms marks a new era in sportscasting. And for Amazon, Charissa Thompson is right at the heart of it all. She even wrote a heartfelt message on her IG post featuring the new squad. “Great few days in NYC with the crew and new friends! Very excited for the upcoming season and most importantly excited to do it with this group of fine folks.” NFL on Prime is the place to be right now for Thompson. But who knows, maybe she, too, will make a big splash back on Fox just like her bestie Erin Andrews.
