Hell Yeah! Aaron Rodgers is back just like that. Saying MetLife sprung to life would truly be an understatement. At 40, he just shushed the critics and proved why he is the future Hall of Famer, yet again! Jets breezed past the Patriots with a 24-3 victory, and this former Gang Green member believed that much of it was down to Allen Lazard’s partnership with A-Rod.

So, Bart Scott had some strong takes on Get Up recently, calling Aaron Rodgers “a guy who’s feeling confident since injury.” But what really caught his attention was the Rodgers-Lazard connection. He said, “Patriots’ game plan was to immobilize the quarterback,” and that could’ve been a problem. But here’s where he said, “Allen Lazard got the team going.” How? Let’s see.

You’d probably remember those good Green Bay days with Rodgers and Lazard, though they didn’t link up as much back then. Why? Well, it’s tough to compete for targets when Davante Adams is running the show. Fast forward to Lazard in New York, and Rodgers joins him a year later. Last season was a bummer with Rodgers sidelined, but this year? If you are a member of the Gang Green reading this, then cheer up because your patience is finally paying off.

Back to Scott’s point: the chemistry between Rodgers and Lazard was on full display Thursday night. Rodgers found his old buddy for his first home TD as a member of the Gang Green, and Lazard, looking rejuvenated, took it 10 yards to the house. Now, contrast that play with Rodgers’ Achilles injury on Game 1’s fourth snap—it’s like MetLife got a reset.

However, the connection has been good for both not only for one. Allen Lazard was a mess last season without Aaron Rodgers, though. Just 23 catches, 311 yards, and deactivated for the final two games. Yikes. But this year? It’s a whole different story. Lazard’s already hit three touchdowns — that’s two more than all of last season. He even had New England’s CB Alex Austin dragging on his shirt like a tail on Friday night. Can’t stop a man on a mission, right?

That’s amazing. But there was one thing that even bettered the ‘connection’. And that was Aaron Rodgers’s performance. Individually!

New season, same ol’ vintage Aaron Rodgers!

“You talk about coming out and throwing the pigskin. The connection: he completed the passes with 8 different receivers.” Bart Scott summed it up perfectly, praising Aaron Rodgers‘ smooth comeback after a brutal injury. Honestly, Rodgers made it look like he never left. Hats off to him for shrugging off a season-ending injury and coming back swinging, right?

Rodgers finished the game with 281 yards, two touchdowns, and a whole lot of swagger. By late in the third quarter, fans couldn’t resist chanting “Aa-ron, Rod-gers!” It was easily his best game in a Jets uniform. And if that was not enough, Bart has handed out a warning for the league, “I think [Aaron Rodgers] had a great day yesterday and they’re just getting started.” Uh-Oh!

Despite some hiccups, the Jets offense was clicking in their 24-3 win over the Patriots. Rodgers was sharp, picking apart the defense like a pro, and even showing some impressive athleticism, scrambling for first downs. Not bad for a guy nearing 41, huh?

Rodgers knows the Jets still have room to grow, but his performance definitely had people smiling. So, with the wrist flick back in action, how far do you think Rodgers can take Gang Green this season?
