Mailata believes Sirianni is one of the best coaches in the league, and he doesn’t think it’s fair to him if he gets blamed for the losses. Mailata said, “He got the short end of the stick, I think, you know, without with the blame to our season. Because you look at yeah there are a lot of times where players didn’t execute, myself included, and so it’s hard when you want to point the finger at someone. You can’t really do that. This is a team sport. You need everybody to do their way and do their job.”

Furthermore, he has recently talked about how his fear that somebody might have to bid farewell to their job, especially after a devastating loss this season. Furthermore, he called it “the nature of the business.”

Mailata hints that somebody might get laid off

The Eagles soared early, reaching 10-1 and NFL supremacy. Yet, beneath the wins, anxieties simmered. Coach Sirianni tried to right the ship, but their flight sputtered, ending in a Wild Card Round blowout.

“I think when the season ends the way it did, there has to be a finger pointed somewhere,” echoed tackle Mailata, reflecting the frustration of a season that nosedived from promise to disappointment. Questions linger: what went wrong, who’s accountable, and how do the Eagles avoid a repeat? Mailata answered, “That’s just how the cards are played. I don’t know what happened. Very rarely do they talk to us players about it. But when you see that kind of [losing] happening, somebody has to [go]. It’s the nature of the business.“
