The Kelce clan members have become household names all over the NFL world. It wasn’t just Travis’ fairytale romance with popstar Taylor Swift that won over fans, but also Kylie Kelce’s warm persona. Travis’ fond nickname for Jason’s better half seems to have taken off, as Princess Kyana’s wholesome encounter with a fan went viral recently.

Kylie was spotted attending the NCAA Women’s Final Four game on Friday. Fans Amanda Brooks and Katie Callahan from ESPN’s PR were also at the semi-final between Iowa and UConn and took the opportunity to get a photograph with Kylie. Recounting the endearing encounter, Brooks posted on X that she and Callahan “rarely ask celebs for photos” but that they “made an exception” for Kylie, aka Princess Kyana.

Kylie is known for being down-to-earth while interacting with fans, and Brooks pointed out the same. Calling her “gracious and kind,” the happy fan shared how the Eagles fan favorite was patient and nice to everyone waiting in a long line to meet her.

What further adds to the charm of the fan’s post is the nickname ‘Princess Kyana.’ The story behind the fitting nickname is as interesting as the name itself and was perfectly coined by her brother-in-law, Travis.

The story behind Kylie Kelce’s nickname

It all started where most of the Kelce brothers’ jokes start: their podcast, New Heights. It was at the time when Kylie had auctioned an Eagles’ vintage jacket for charity. Jason shared the significance of the green jacket, which was a replica of one Princess Diana wore in 1991. Only this time, Kylie was chosen to sign the famous gear. The auction managed to raise $100,000, which was donated to the Eagles Autism Foundation.

In response to the sweet story, Travis chimed in with, “Princess Kylie!” It is not especially surprising, as the ‘People’s Princess of Philadelphia’ is an oft-used nickname by Eagles’ fans for the mother of three. It was his second wordplay answer that gave birth to the nickname in question, “Princess Kayana.”
