It was one of, if not the, most impressive comebacks I’ve ever witnessed, and they shattered quite a few records in the process. Here are all the ways Bo Nix and the Broncos made history on Sunday.

1. Bo Nix makes history

Bo Nix also became the first player in NFL history to throw for and run for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter of a game. And to take it one further, he also became the first player to do that in ANY quarter, not just the fourth.

Nix is also now tied with Baker Mayfield for the most comeback wins in the fourth quarter (six) since Nix entered the league last year.

2. 1,602-game win streak comes to an end

Coming into this game, NFL teams had won 1,602 consecutive games when leading by 18 or more points with six minutes left in the game. At the six-minute mark, the Broncos found themselves trailing 26-8, but put a touchdown on the board 47 seconds later before going on touchdown drives of 56 and 51 seconds, and then kicking a game-winning field goal at the end of the half.

3. Multiple 4Q scoring records

The Broncos also set a franchise record for the most fourth quarter points scored in franchise history with 33. It was very close for being the NFL record too, but the Detroit Lions still hold that title, having scored 34 in the fourth quarter to comeback and beat the Chicago Bears in 2007.

Denver also set the NFL record for the most points scored in the fourth quarter by a team that was shutout through the first three quarters.

4. Sean Payton’s first

Coming into Sunday’s game, Sean Payton-led teams were 0-15 when being shutout and trailing by 10+ points at halftime. The Broncos were down 13-0 at halftime, and 19-0 in the fourth quarter before coming back and winning, 33-32.

5. One of the most improbable wins of all-time

The Broncos’ win percentage dropped all the way down to 0.7 percent in the fourth quarter before the Broncos rallied back to win. This was the the eighth-most improbable win since 2016 and the most improbable win of the season, according to Next Gen Stats.

To add to just how improbable this win was, the Broncos became the first team since 1970 to comeback from down 18+ points in the final six minutes and win in regulation.

Needless to say, we may never see another game like this in our lifetimes. So Broncos fans, soak it up and enjoy it.
