The quarterback position is the most important in football. While many undervalue it in fantasy, who you have at quarterback can make or break your week.

This week has a lot of interesting matchups. Yes, this list is dominated by the big names, but there are still some mid-tier guys who have some very good matchups you can take advantage of. Here are my top 20 fantasy quarterbacks for Week 11.

Bo Nix has been a great fantasy option this season because of the work he’s done late in games, but last week he was exposed a bit. He’s not playing as great as his numbers indicate, and he’s really struggled at times. Now he has to face a really tough Kansas City defense coming off a bye. Good luck.

19. Caleb Williams

Matchup: Minnesota Vikings

Caleb Williams has been very up and down this season. He’s played well against bad defenses, but he’s struggled when met with some resistance. Minnesota’s defense isn’t as good as it has been the past couple of seasons, but they’re still a decent unit that can get some pressure on the quarterback. Williams should be a fine fantasy option, but there are a lot of guys I like better.

18. J.J. McCarthy

Matchup: Chicago Bears

I actually really like J.J. McCarthy as a fantasy option, but this week, there are some quarterbacks who’d usually be below him that have some really good matchups, so he’s a few spots lower than he normally would be. Still think he has some upside this week, though.

Projection: 16.1 points

17. Aaron Rodgers

Matchup: Cincinnati Bengals

Aaron Rodgers has been the definition of an average fantasy quarterback this year. He’s QB17 and has scored between 12-17 points in all but two of his games. I think he’ll be closer to that 17-point range this weekend, though, as he faces one of the worst defenses in football in the Cincinnati Bengals.

Projection: 16.9 points

16. Tua Tagovailoa

Matchup: Washington Commanders

This is another guy who’d probably be lower normally, but he has a great matchup against the Washington Commanders, who allow the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. He has been very inconsistent, but when he’s playing well, he has a ton of upside.

Projection: 17.2 points

15. Geno Smith

Matchup: Dallas Cowboys

Geno Smith wouldn’t sniff this list most weeks, but he has the most favorable matchup in fantasy football against the Dallas Cowboys. I don’t trust Las Vegas’ offense one bit, but one of my rules is to always start a quarterback against Dallas, so I had to put him in the top 15.

Projection: 17.3 points

14. Jordan Love

Matchup: New York Giants

Everyone wants Jordan Love to be an MVP favorite, but he’s just not at that level. He’s not a bad quarterback by any means, but he just isn’t on the same level as some of his peers. I don’t love this matchup, and with a bunch of injuries at receiver, his ceiling is severely capped.

Projection: 17.3 points

13. Jared Goff

Matchup: Philadelphia Eagles

Jared Goff has been very disappointing in fantasy this season, but he’s been playing well in recent weeks, and this is a big game. I know both sides have a good defense, but games like this usually come down to quarterback play, so if Detroit wants to keep pace, they’ll need a big game from Goff.

Projection: 17.5 points

12. Baker Mayfield

Matchup: Buffalo Bills

Baker Mayfield has fallen off pretty hard in recent weeks, but that’s been due to a ton of injuries offensively. With Bucky Irving likely coming back next week, their offense should take a step forward. Buffalo’s defense is tough, but big players make big plays in big games, so I think Mayfield should return to being a pretty good fantasy QB. Still need to see him do it before he’s back in the top 10.

Projection: 17.7 points

11. Sam Darnold

Matchup: Los Angeles Rams

Sam Darnold may not be the 20+ point per game scorer everyone wants in a fantasy quarterback, but he’s been extremely consistent this year. He’s scored 16+ in all but two games this year, but he does face one of his toughest tests of the year against the Los Angeles Rams. He should be pretty good, but I worry the Rams’ defense may cause some issues.

Projection: 18.0 points

10. Patrick Mahomes

Matchup: Denver Broncos

Patrick Mahomes is coming off his worst performance of the season right before Kansas City’s bye week, and now he has to face one of the toughest defenses in the league. Still, he almost always performs well in big games, so I expect him to have a decent amount of success.

Projection: 18.6 points

9. Jalen Hurts

Matchup: Detroit Lions

Jalen Hurts has scored 19+ in each of his last six games, and with a big-time matchup against Detroit on the docket, there’s no reason to believe he shouldn’t at least get close to that mark. Detroit has been very good defensively this year, so I don’t see Hurts getting to 25+, but 19+ should be very attainable.

Projection: 19.7

8. Joe Flacco

Matchup: Pittsburgh Steelers

Joe Flacco has become a top 10 fantasy quarterback since taking over as QB1 in Cincinnati. He’s scored 18+ every week with the Bengals, including 24+ in his last three, and now he gets to face one of the worst pass defenses in football coming off a bye. There’s no reason he can’t hit that 20-point mark again.

Projection: 20.1 points

7. Jaxson Dart

Matchup: Green Bay Packers

I keep putting Jaxson Dart in the 10-15 range, just waiting for his fantasy production to fall off, but it hasn’t. He’s had 23+ in four of his last five, and in the one that he didn’t, he had 19. He is an excellent fantasy option, and while the Green Bay Packers have a stout defense, that hasn’t stopped him in the past.

He did get his bell rung on Sunday and exited the game with a concussion. There’s a chance he doesn’t play, but if he’s healthy, he’s a top 10 fantasy QB.

Projection: 21.0 points

6. Dak Prescott

Matchup: Las Vegas Raiders

Dak Prescott hasn’t played very well the past two weeks. One game was against Denver, which is understandable, but the other was against Arizona, whose defense is nothing special. Still, he’s a great quarterback leading a great offense, and he faces one of the worst defenses in the league.

Projection: 21.3 points

5. Lamar Jackson

article-image

Imago

Matchup: Cleveland Browns

Lamar Jackson is facing one of the toughest defenses in football, but he’s so dynamic that he’s almost always going to be a top-five fantasy option. Again, I don’t love the matchup, but he’s capable of rushing for 50+ yards, and we all know what he can do with his arm, so he’s top-five.

Projection: 22.0 points

4. Matthew Stafford

Matchup: Seattle Seahawks

Matthew Stafford is playing as well as anyone, and the Rams’ offense is firing on all cylinders, especially through the air. Even though he doesn’t have the rushing upside as the others around him, he’s going to be a top 5-7 fantasy option pretty much every week because of how often they throw the ball, especially in the red zone.

Projection: 22.3 points

3. Justin Herbert

Matchup: Jacksonville Jaguars

Justin Herbert has been one of the best quarterbacks in football this year, which has helped him finish as the QB2 through the first half of the year. In Week 11, Herbert faces a Jacksonville defense that isn’t all that good. I know there are some concerns about the tackle positions, but he should be able to overcome some pressure and have a good day.

Projection: 22.7 points

2. Drake Maye

article-image

Imago

Matchup: New York Jets

Drake Maye has been great this season. He’s QB3 this year, and gets to face one of the worst teams in the league in the New York Jets, who just dealt their two best defensive players, including Sauce Gardner, at the deadline. No reason he shouldn’t have a ton of success this weekend.

Projection: 23.0 points

1. Josh Allen

Matchup: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Finally, our No. 1 quarterback of the week is none other than Josh Allen. Is he coming off a very disappointing performance against one of the worst defenses in the league? Yes, but the weather was bad, and that always felt like a trap game. This is a big-time matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he always elevates his game to match the moment.

Projection: 23.5 points
