The fantasy football regular season is entering the home stretch in most leagues. There are only a handful of weeks left to collect wins and lock up your spot in the playoffs, so getting your starting lineup right is more important than ever.

I’m not going to call myself an expert, but I’ve been playing fantasy for 15 years and watch every game every week, so I like to think I know a thing or two about fantasy. So, today, I’m going to give you two of my best starts and sits at every position in Week 10.

Quarterback

For how good the Detroit Lions’ offense has been this year, Jared Goff has been a surprisingly bad fantasy quarterback. He’s the QB14 on the year, and is averaging around 17 points per game, but that’s heavily inflated from one 33-point performance in Week 2. Outside of that, he’s scored 20+ points one time, but I think he could be a good start this week.

Goff and the Lions face the Washington Commanders this week, who give up the third-most points to opposing quarterbacks. Considering the top two worst defenses are on a bye this week, Goff has the best fantasy matchup for any quarterback this week. He might not score 25+, but he should give you an easy 18+ points this weekend.

My other start for Week 10 is J.J. McCarthy. I could tell you to start Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson or someone else great, but I like to give somewhat under-the-radar picks. McCarthy came back last week and played well, scoring 19 points. He’s started three games this year and has scored 19+ in two of them. Add on the fact that they have a fairly easy matchup against Baltimore, and it looks like he’ll be in for another solid fantasy performance.

Running Back

My first running back start is Quinshon Judkins, who gets to face a depleted New York Jets defense on Sunday. The Jets just had a fire sale at the deadline, which included their star defensive tackle, Quinnen Williams. With him out of the picture, and already weak run defense now gets even weaker. I still don’t trust Cleveland’s offense, but if Judkins gets 15+ touches, he should have a good game.

I’m also going to throw Rico Dowdle out there. I know many of you who own him will already be starting him, but he has a great matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Even if this turns into a split backfield, Dowdle should have a lot of success and probably get into the end zone at least once. He’s a must-start this week, especially if you can put him in your FLEX.

Troy Franklin continues to be a massive part of Denver’s offense. He has seen 28 targets in the last three games and has now overtaken Courtland Sutton as the most targeted man on the team. He is limited by the fact that he doesn’t make a lot of big plays. Most of his production comes within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage, but it’s hard to bench someone averaging almost 10 targets per game over his last three.

Yes, Chris Olave may have had one of his worst games of the season in Tyler Shough’s first start, but that was due to some poor play-calling and some excellent clock management by the Rams. I think the Saints’ offense will find much more success this week, and with Rashid Shaheed heading to Seattle, Olave is the clear-cut WR1 in New Orleans.

Tight End

Dalton Kincaid has been pretty hit or miss this season, but he’s coming off a very good game against the Chiefs, and now he has one of the best tight end matchups of the week against the Miami Dolphins. I am a bit concerned that the Bills might go up big early and not throw the ball a whole lot in the second half, but Kincaid should still have a pretty good weekend against one of the worst defenses in football.

Sam LaPorta is finally starting to come around after a slow start to the season. He’s scored 15+ in three of his last four games, and this week he has another favorable matchup against the Commanders. I am also a bit concerned about a blowout in this game, but LaPorta has become one of the more reliable tight ends in recent weeks, so he should still have a good game.

Sit ‘Em

Quarterback

There are two rules for quarterbacks in fantasy football. One, if they’re playing the Cowboys, always start them. Two, if they’re playing the Texans, always sit them. Well, Trevor Lawrence is playing the Texans this week, and he is absolutely going on my bench. QBs average 11 points per game against Houston. That should be enough to convince you.

I will also be benching Aaron Rodgers this week. He’s coming off a pretty good stretch of games, but he plays a very tough Chargers defense this week that allows just 13.7 points per game to opposing quarterbacks. I think this game will be lower scoring than many think, so I’m putting Rodgers on the bench.

Running Back

Breece Hall is my first RB sit of the week. I know he’s one of the best fantasy backs in the league, but the Jets are in full-on tank mode, and he plays one of the toughest run defenses in the Browns. They give up just 15.44 points to opposing RBs, which ranks second in the league, so Hall is going on my bench.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt is also taking a full-time seat on my bench. The preseason darling had a nice run, but he’s become virtually unplayable in recent weeks, and now that Jayden Daniels is out for a while, there’s no reason to believe his production will ramp up anytime soon. Plus, he has a bad matchup against Detroit, so he’s definitely taking a seat.

Wide Receiver

DJ Moore has been playing pretty well during Rome Odunze’s slump, but I’m still not starting him this week. Odunze is still Chicago’s WR1, and while Moore has a very friendly matchup against the Giants, Colston Loveland is going to only get more involved in this offense, and I think they’re going to want to pound the rock with Kyle Monangai. Moore also hasn’t had more than four catches in a game since Week 2, so he’s relying heavily on big plays.

This is my bold take of the week, but Drake London is one of my sit candidates this week. One, I don’t trust Atlanta’s offense to have back-to-back good games. Two, Sauce Gardner is going to be glued to him this week. I wouldn’t be surprised if Indy has Sauce follow London around all game and just play straight up man-to-man with some safety help over the top. After what London did a week ago, Indy isn’t going to let him beat them, and there’s a reason they went out and added one of the best corners in football for two firsts.

Tight End

Luke Musgrave is going to be a popular pickup in fantasy this week after Tucker Kraft went down with a season-ending injury, but I’m sitting him this week. He saw four targets last week, but he faces a tough test against Philadelphia in his first game as the starter. If you really need tight end help, he’ll be good for most of the season, but not this week.

Pat Freiermuth has had a couple of good games over the last three weeks, but he’s been very touchdown-dependent and the Chargers have been very good at stopping opposing tight ends. When he’s not scoring touchdowns, he’s scoring less than eight points per game, so he’s going on my bench this week.
