Week 7 of the NFL season is already upon us, and with it comes the time to set your fantasy football rosters. I don’t know if it’s just me, but this has been one of the hardest fantasy seasons in recent memory. There have been a ton of injuries, but a lot of the top picks just haven’t panned out.

Watch What’s Trending Now!

While we weren’t perfect last week, I’d say Tim Wood and I did a pretty good job with our start and sit advice. So if you don’t know what to do with your lineup this week, we’re here to help you out.

Here are some players you should start and sit at every position, plus our sleeper pick and best flex plays for the week.

Luke’s Picks

Jayden Daniels: I did it last week, so I’m going to do it again. If you ever have a quarterback playing against the Dallas Cowboys, START HIM. I don’t care if it’s a question of starting Jaxson Dart or Josh Allen; start whoever is playing Dallas. They’ve given up almost 30 points per game to opposing QBs this year, so until they prove they can stop them, keep on starting their opponents.

Caleb Williams: Caleb Williams is a borderline start every week. He’s not going to give you 30+, but he’s pretty consistently going to give you 18-22 points. This week, though, he gets a very favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints, who give up 24.8 points to QBs every week. Should be a reliable starting option if you have Josh Allen (on a bye) or another average fantasy QB you’re debating between.

Tim’s Picks

I’m going to let Luke give you all the words this week. I’m just going to give you a volume of players and matchups I like.

I like Drake Maye versus the Tennessee Titans, even though Tennessee is giving up the fifth-least points to QBs. The big thing here is the Titans are sixth-worst in generating pressure against QBs. And with a clean pocket, Maye will feast.

I also like Jared Goff against the Bucs, Bo Nix against the Giants, and Justin Fields against the Carolina Panthers. The last one is a good reminder that just a team stinking doesn’t necessarily nix starts from their players.

Luke’s Picks

Rachaad White: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have turned to Rachaad White since Bucky Irving went down, and while his rushing stats haven’t been great, he’s been a great fantasy option. White’s been in the end zone three times in the last two weeks, and plays a decent role in the Bucs’ pass game. I expect him to have another big game this weekend, even against a pretty good Detroit defense.

Quinshon Judkins: Judkins should be a must-start by now, but if for some reason you’re not starting him, go ahead and do it this week. The Miami Dolphins have one of the worst run defenses in football, and he’s seen 18+ carries in three of his last four games. No reason he should be wasting away on your bench this weekend.

Tim’s Picks

I’m just giving you a lot here, because this could be a big week for RBs in general. I start with the New York teams once again, as I love Cam Skattebo against the Broncos and Breece Hall against the Panthers.

Alvin Kamara against the Bears, J.K. Dobbins against the Giants, Kimari Vidal against the Colts, and both TreVeyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stephenson against the Titans are all big thumbs up for me as well.

Wide Receiver

Rashee Rice: Ask anyone I’ve played fantasy with, I’m the biggest Rashee Rice fan out there. I’ve drafted him in pretty much every league for the past two years, and while he’s only played a couple of games in that span, it’s clear that he’s a special talent. Patrick Mahomes trusts him, and he should see a heavy workload in his first game back.

Rome Odunze: Odunze had his worst week of the season last year, but it’s because he and Caleb Williams were just off on a couple of big plays. He easily could’ve had a 100-yard day, but ended up with two catches for 32 yards. This week, he gets a Saints secondary that gave up a ton of big plays to the Patriots last time out. Look for Odunze to bounce back in a big way.

Tim’s Picks

Again, I don’t feel like playing by the rules this week, so I’m throwing volume at you. Let’s start with Deebo Samuel against the Falcons. He loves these spotlight games.

I also love Ladd McConkey and Keenan Allen against the Colts, Devante Adams against the Jaguars with no Puka; Cortland Sutton against the Giants, Jordan Addison against the Eagles, Chris Olave against the Bears, and Jameson Williams against the Bucs.

Tight End

Luke’s Picks

Michael Mayer: In his first game back from injury, Michael Mayer had himself a day, catching five passes for 50 yards and a score and scoring 16 fantasy points. With Brock Bowers likely missing this week’s game, look for Mayer to be a big part of the Las Vegas Raiders’ offense again.

Harold Fannin: The Cleveland Browns have two great tight ends, but it looks like Harold Fannin is about to take over. There are rumors that the Browns will trade David Njoku at the deadline, creating an opening for Fannin to take over as TE1. He’s had back-to-back double-digit scoring games, but is being started in just 44 percent of the league. PUT HIM IN YOUR LINEUP!

Tim’s Picks

Hopefully, I’ve firmly established my disdain for tight ends in fantasy. That said, there are a few players who will either be in better spots for big targets and/or red-zone TD opportunities this week.

For me, that’s Dallas Goedert against the Vikings, Evan Engram against the Giants, Darren Waller against the Browns, Mason Taylor against the Panthers, Kyle Pitts Sr. against the 49ers, and Cade Otton against the Lions.

Quarterback

Jaxson Dart: It might be tempting to start Jaxson Dart with the way he’s been playing lately, but don’t make the mistake of starting him this week. The Denver Broncos’ defense is elite, and Dart is going to struggle. He’s going to be under duress all day, and even though he might have some solid rushing stats, I don’t expect a lot from him in terms of fantasy production.

Jalen Hurts: I like to try to do one bold prediction for every position, whether that’s start or sit, and this week’s QB is Jalen Hurts. Even if he isn’t a great QB on the field, he’s a pretty dang good fantasy QB, but this week, he gets a Vikings defense that’s been very good against opposing QBs, and with the way the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense has been playing, I don’t want any part of Hurts this week.

Tim’s Picks

I’m staying away from Kyler Murray against the Packers, C.J. Stroud against the Seahawks, and Tua Tagovailoa against the Browns.

Luke’s Picks

Travis Etienne: Travis Etienne started the season off hot, but has cooled down pretty significantly the last couple of weeks. I know fantasy owners want him to get back to form, but I don’t see that happening this week against a very stout Los Angeles Rams rushing defense.

Rico Dowdle: Yup, I’m saying it. Put Rico Dowdle on your bench this weekend. Chuba Hubbard is coming back, and while you can never discredit a 200-yard performance, he played the two worst rushing defenses in the league the last two weeks. Hopefully, you didn’t buy high on him after this week, because his fantasy stock is about to tank.

Tim’s Picks

My sits are more about full backfields this week. I don’t like any Seahawks, Texans, or Cardinals this week. The matchups are bad, and the players are either inflated value (Bam Knight) or just trending down. One exception here may be Kenneth Walker. He could have some bursts against a middling Texans line.

I’m also down on Tony Pollard in general, but especially in this matchup against the Patriots.

Wide Receiver

Luke’s Picks

AJ Brown: I know this may seem like an obvious one for some of you, but AJ Brown is still being started in 88 percent of sleeper redraft leagues. It’s time, guys. I know you spent a high pick on him, but let him get some rest on your bench. He’s not going to break out this week against a Minnesota Vikings team that gives up the fewest fantasy points to WRs.

Wan’Dale Robinson: Robinson was a very popular waiver addition after his hot start to the season and Malik Nabers’ injury, but he struggled early with Dart at QB, but just had his first big game since Week 2, scoring 20 points. There are going to be people inserting him into their lineup, but don’t make that mistake. For the same reason I’m sitting Dart, I’m sitting Robinson as well.

Tim’s Picks

There are differing schools of thought on Davonta Smith this week. I’m leaning big on sit. I’m equally as passionate about benching D.J. Moore and Jauan Jennings. And Travis Hunter is a sit until the Jaguars figure out how to use him consistently. You can’t gamble on hoping for the one big target per game.

Tight End

Luke’s Picks

Juwan Johnson: Johnson is the perfect example of the tight end position in fantasy. He was TE1 through the first few weeks, and since he was added by over 50 percent of rosters, he’s put up three straight games with under six points. The experiment was fun, but it’s time to drop him now.

Travis Kece: My bold tight end prediction is that you should sit Travis Kelce this week. The Kansas City Chiefs have played four close games this year, and in those games, Kelce has scored over 13 points per game. In the Chiefs’ two blowout victories, Kelce has scored just over seven points per game. They play the Raiders this week, and there’s no reason to believe they shouldn’t blow them out of the water. I know you may not have a better option on your roster, but if you do, maybe consider starting them.

Tim’s Picks

T.J. Hockenson, Hunter Henry, A.J. Barner, Theo Johnson, and Dalton Schultz are all big red flags for me this week.

Best Flex start

Luke’s Pick

Kendrick Bourne: The San Francisco 49ers have been decimated with injuries this season, and while they could get someone like George Kittle back this week, Kendrick Bourne, who has had back-to-back 19+ point games, should still feast on the outside. Take advantage of his production while Ricky Pearsall and some of the 49ers’ other weapons are banged up.

Tim’s Pick

I like Josh Jacobs against the Cardinals the most here, but I’m equally excited about Jaxson Smith-Njigba against the Texans and Brian Thomas Jr. against the Rams.

Best Sleeper

Luke’s Pick

Tutu Atwell: This is for anyone who really, really needs help at WR/Flex this week and needs to find someone on waivers. In five games without Puka Nacua last year, Tutu Atwell averaged nearly five catches and 67 yards per game. He scored 7.80, 13.30, 12.20, 12.50, and 11.10 fantasy points in those five weeks. He is battling a bit of an injury himself, but is expected to play. With Puka, Atwell could be a good pickup for those looking for WR help.

Tim’s Pick

Tyjae Spears: He played 10 more snaps than Pollard last week, and I think a new coaching hierarchy is going to lean even more into that this week. I also like Tez Johnson against the Lions. One connection with Baker last week should lead to more targets this week.
