In a recent TIME interview, the Kansas City Chiefs QB discussed the possibility of having a prolonged career like that of Tom Brady. Though it sounded nice in theory, Mahomes had his prioritizes clear. He mentioned how his daughter will be a teenager by the time he’s in his 23 or so season, and he will miss out on watching her grow up.

“If I can play until Tom’s age, my daughter would be 19, 20 years old,” Mahomes revealed. “I would love to play that long. At the same time, I want to be there for my daughter. If I feel like it’s taking away from my family time, that’s when I’ll know it’s time to go.”
