One’s initial stints are always special. I remember mine well, and I’m sure you would too. It’s not just about where you worked or what gigs you did as you were creating a name for yourself. They are experiences that evolve you and make you grow. Both personally and professionally. And so, when one often looks back at them, they are nostalgic and proud of how far they’ve come. Not to forget being embarrassed by how naive they were or how they looked and dressed when they were young.

Erin Andrews had one such moment when she sat down with Jenna Bush Hager to co-host an episode of Today’s ‘Jenna and Friends’. With such a dynamic and fun duo in the studio, the producers probably wanted to have some fun, and they DID NOT miss the chance. And how to have fun with two people who have been on television since forever, you ask? Well…the producers got them to look at each other’s pictures from their early TV stints. If that was not enough, the producers got them to talk about it. Pretty awkward, huh?

It was Erin’s turn first, as the screen switched to a photograph of her reporting for ABC Sports in her early days, “circa 2004,” she said. Andrews in the photograph was seen wearing a green top with her signature blonde hair while reporting a game. “This is game seven, baby. Tampa Bay Lightning beating the Calgary Flames,” she remembered correctly. “I would like to say I was trying to be Faith Hill and Melissa Stark from NBC. I will tell you right now I had no eyebrows and that lip liner was the dark cover girl lip liner with the lighter MAC shade,” she said as she recalled the old days. Slyly adding that her husband calls it “the green dragon look.”

No one can escape the producers once they decide to have fun, and so the screen switched one more time. This time it was Jenna’s turn, and immediately Erin exclaimed, “You look fantastic. Little peanut face!” while looking at a photograph, probably from Jenna’s earliest TV appearances. Jenna in the picture can be seen in a black top and having her signature smile on her face. Jenna, while agreeing with Erin, added, “I had a big head. I’m sort of surprised they hired me, but they like big faces around here.” Jenna then reminisced about all the time she has spent at the studio and talked about Davey. You know, the hand symbol guy, and how she saw him in an old photograph from when Ann Curry interviewed her in 2006.

These moments show how far the two of them have come since their first TV gigs in the 2000s. Especially Erin Andrews, who covered games for ESPN and ABC Sports from the sidelines since 2004, before making a major move to Fox in 2012. A broadcaster where she’s been a regular for NFL match coverage before she dropped a massive hint, which has caught people’s attention.

Andrews is going for a massive career change?

Erin Andrews, who has been with Fox since 2012, had her contract end at the end of the 2024 season, with many expecting her to sign an extension. After all, she has a long connection with Fox, going back to her freelancing days, and a lot of people from the early 2000s probably grew up watching her on the sidelines. So naturally, the possibility of her leaving Fox and the NFL, especially after the recent announcement, was absurd for her fans.

What’s your perspective on:

Will Erin Andrews' fans support her new talk show role, or miss her on the NFL sidelines?

Have an interesting take?

But as it is said, nothing is impossible in life. In a surprise move, Andrews decided to step away from the offseason. She later announced that she would be co-host at “Jenna and Friends’ for the week of May 12 while sharing an Instagram post. This has left fans confused about whether they will see their beloved reporter back once the season starts. Taking into consideration that it has been just one year since she was joined by a star-studded crew of Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt.

Even though no one knows what her next move will be, one can only expect to see her more in her new role as a talk show host/anchor in addition to her ‘Calm Down with Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson’ podcast. Meanwhile, dedicated NFL fans who have been watching her for years will be hoping that she does sign an extension with Fox for the next season.
