The New York Jets have turned the tables entirely as they managed to put down one of the strongest teams in the league. They defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, then a week later they also secured a 31-21 win against the Denver Broncos. So the team is currently on a roll, but there has been some inner turmoil going on within the team. The newly recruited Running Back Dalvin Cook isn’t happy with the fewer opportunities given to him.

Cook used to be the first choice when he used to play with the Minnesota Vikings. However, things changed when he joined the Jets. Although many thought that the duo of Dalvin Cook and Breece Hall would actually prove to be invincible. But things didn’t go as planned and now there could be a chance that Cook may look for a trade.

Since Dalvin Cook has been a part of the Jets, he hasn’t received double-digit touches in any of the games of the season so far. Cook hasn’t been emulating his plays from his time in the Vikings. He has only carried 39 times for 109 yards in the six games he’s played. Moreover, without scoring a touchdown since his transfer to New York, he has only rushed three times that too only against the Eagles in Week 6.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Cook didn’t deny any trade rumors that have been up in the air for some time. He said, “It’s something I can’t control, that my name is being floated around in trade rumors. It might be a good thing. Maybe a bad thing.” He even stated that he wants to have a meeting with Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas and his agent regarding a trade before Tuesday, 4 p.m. ET.

Cook himself is upset about his performance. And he knows that there’s something that’s really not working for him in the team. Additionally, he doesn’t feel comfortable being the second fiddle to Breece Hall, where he thought they’d be a deadly duo. He voiced out his frustration.

Cook irritated by his recent plays with the Jets

Dalvin Cook is currently in the last position among the 44 ball carriers in the league, with a record of 2.8 yards per carry. This must be really frustrating for the 4x Pro Bowler, as he once occupied the top position in such statistics. He mentioned, “Of course it’s frustrating. I’m an honest person, man. I work. I want to play. That’s just anyway. And, yeah, it’s frustrating. It’s new for me.”

Cook hasn’t broken a run longer than 10 yards, and it’s eating him up day by day. On the other hand, Hall is thriving after being cured of his ACL injury. Cook mentioned that he has been a different player before and what he’s experiencing now is a first. He said, “If you watch my career, the type of back I am, I get better and better as the game goes on.”

Hopefully, he will find a way out of this block, and get his head in the game more. Otherwise, a trade doesn’t seem too bad of an option. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section.
