George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys seem to be vibing pretty well right now. His trade has been one of the spicier topics in the NFL lately. Especially after the Steelers reportedly decided to move on from the 24-year-old wideout, mainly because of his temperament and locker room fit. Last season, Pickens often found himself scrapping with opposing defenses. And that edgy attitude didn’t sit too well with HC Mike Tomlin. Still, no one expected Pittsburgh to pull the trigger on a trade because of that. But here we are, Pickens is out of Steel City, and doing just fine in Dallas.

Sometimes, change is good. And George seems to be all in. It’s a fresh and new start in Dallas for the wideout. As he settles into the Cowboys’ system, Pickens is also tidying up his social media presence. The 24-year-old has found himself in hot water before thanks to some of his online activity. But not anymore. With a new team, we’re getting a whole new George Pickens. On Wednesday, Pickens took to Instagram to announce a social media update. Posting the link to his new and only X account, he wrote, “MY NEW AND ONLY TWITTER… if don’t come from here it ain’t REAL so we can stop the bappin lol.”

The move comes after a viral comment criticizing the Steelers made rounds online, allegedly from an account claiming to be George’s. But if you ask the wideout, he is not losing sleep over it. For Pickens, joining Dallas is all about starting over. “Super rejuvenating, new city, new state, it’s super refreshing,” the WR said after arriving in Dallas.

And the Cowboys seem to be excited as well, welcoming him with open arms. “We did a ton of research into GP [Pickens], my interaction with GP has been incredible… We all change, adjust, and grow. I’m thrilled with the way the guys have responded to him,” new HC Brian Schottenheimer said about Pickens.

So, Cowboys Nation doesn’t need to worry about George’s antics. It looks like the wideout left that temper flare back in Pittsburgh. Speaking of which, what exactly was that comment that pushed Pickens to make this new social media move?

Did the Steelers make a mistake letting Pickens go, or was it the right call?

What George Pickens (allegedly) said about the Steelers?

The smoke around the Steelers trading George Pickens started swirling after DK Metcalf landed in Pittsburgh. At first, GM Omar Khan and HC Mike Tomlin both shut down the chatter. No one believed they’d move on from such a promising young receiver.  And even if they were considering it, most assumed they’d wait until next year when Pickens’ contract expired. The wideout was set to enter the final year of his rookie deal. But in the first week of May, the trade news dropped, and it caught everyone off guard.

Then, about a week after getting traded, a post on X, allegedly from Pickens’ account, grabbed the internet’s attention. The post read, “They the cheapest organization. Ain’t no stacking year after year they gone let them (expletive) go too soon as it’s time Lmaoo.” It blew up online, with netizens quickly taking screenshots and spreading it all over social media.

Soon after media outlets picked up the story, George Pickens didn’t waste any time setting the record straight. The wideout hopped on social media to shut down the rumors, making it clear the post didn’t come from him. “Literally on a plane. No service,” he wrote on his Instagram, explaining that he only saw the fake post after landing. “Just landed and seen straight lies from Pitt fans. Stop with AI trying to make a story. I’m happy for everything the Steel City did for me,” he added, putting the chatter to rest.
