Cam Skattebo and the New York Giants, not long ago, during week 5, fumbled a win against the New Orleans Saints, losing 26-14. But Skattebo and Jaxson Dart, the young rookie talent, flipped the narrative at MetLife Stadium, marking a historic 34-17 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game began with commentators pointing out how the Giants were collapsing post the Saints game. The script was rewritten when the rookie won hearts. As the crowd roared, the proudest smile in the stadium belonged to No. 44’s father, Leo Skattebo.

“Great night for football. #ProudMoment @camskattebo5,” Cam’s father posted on his X account. He also shared pictures from the game on his post. One of them was when the RB gave the ball to his father. As the two posed together for a picture, Cam’s father was seen wearing a no. 44 jersey. Leo also shared a picture of the ball postgame. It looks like he took it home. That small gesture spoke volumes about the pride he feels for his son. And honestly, who wouldn’t?
Skattebo burst onto the prime-time stage, carrying the ball 19 times. He racked up 98 rushing yards, an average of 5.2 yards per carry. The 23-year-old also scored three rushing touchdowns, tying a franchise rookie mark; the only other was Charlie Evans in 1971.

Skattebo also caught two passes for 12 yards, adding a receiving dimension to his breakout night. New York’s offensive line opened lanes for the running back. Skattebo struck repeatedly in the red zone, punching in short runs to tilt the momentum. His performance helped silence the reigning champs. According to Pro Football Reference, Skattebo’s 233 rush yards before contact this year are the second-most in the league.

“The franchise has been a losing franchise the last couple of years, but that’s not who we are right now. We need to continue to build …every day,” the RB told the BBC post-game. And build he did.
Cam Skattebo joined an elite company and defined his energy with a famous backflip and surfing celebration. This season, he picked up 493 yards from scrimmage and posted five total touchdowns. The night did not just mark a turning of 2-4 for the Giants, but also silenced the skeptical critics of Head Coach Brian Daboll’s place this season. How did they celebrate? Shirtless, live on TV.
Cameron and Ryan Fitzpatrick take their shirts off
It happened on Prime Video’s TNF show. QB Jaxon Dart asked Ryan Fitzpatrick to take his shirt off, marking the celebration for the Giants.
“I’ve been seeing Fitz take his shirt off. If you take it off, Skat will take it off,” Dart said.
As soon as he said, Cam ripped his blue shirt off live on camera. The crowd roared, extending their support. It was only seconds later, Ryan joined Cam and removed his Hawaiian shirt. All this time, Dart was holding the mic for them and laughing.

“Skaaattteboooooo!” Ryan said as the two chest bumped. Cameron joined with his loud ‘WHOOOO.’ This is not the first time Ryan has removed his shirt on TV. But doing it for the Giants? That sure is first. He took to his X account to admit that he made an exception for the rookie.

“I made a promise this morning that shirt wouldn’t come off unless I was in Buffalo….easy exception for Skattebo”, the NFL veteran admitted. With the Giants lighting up MetLife Stadium, the rookie duo made sure the fans went home laughing.
