Aaron Rodgers‘ next career move is a huge ‘will he? won’t he?’ Fans are plucking up a proverbial petal every day, still confused about what his next move will be. While some are sure he will join the Steelers, some fans are predicting his retirement. After all, now that Rodgers is 41, he is no longer the player that he once was. This was evident in his last season with the Jets, where he and the team struggled heavily and did not make the postseason. That, along with his entire sideshow, led to the Jets not renewing his contract, instead opting for Justin Fields.
As the rumors about Rodgers signing with Pittsburgh continue to rise, many have come to oppose the signing. Some are even imploring Steelers’ Head Coach Mike Tomlin to make a rational decision, looking at his recent form and, more importantly, his age. While fans and pundits alike have called this a disaster move for the Steelers. Emmanuel Acho, on the other hand, has decided to put Tomlin on blast for the extended drama.
In a clip shared on X, Acho is seen speaking on The Facility about how Tomlin is mishandling the situation. “Mike Tomlin is Mike Tomlin’s biggest enemy. Period,” is what Acho had to say, referring to the latest rumors on the Steelers signing Rodgers as their QB. “We all watching one of the most important positions in sports be absolutely negligently mishandled, and nobody is saying anything about it. I don’t know why, but Tomlin is absolutely undermining the work of all other 90 players.“ This is what Acho said while talking about how bringing in Rodgers as a QB instead of developing the ones they already have will only hurt the team in the long run.

Underlining the importance of having a good quarterback who can throw long and accurately, Acho said, “T.J. Watt could have 35 sacks. Won’t matter without a quarterback. Patrick Queen, 250 tackles. Won’t matter without a quarterback. Minkah Fitzpatrick could have 15 interceptions. Won’t matter without a quarterback. None of the work that any of the other players on the roster do.” Acho called out Mike Tomlin for handling the current situation negligently. “It is on Mike Tomlin, he continues to completely mishandle this quarterback situation. It’s the most negligent and grossly negligent thing we have witnessed in sports,” he said.
Acho slammed Mike Tomlin for going for a new starting QB for the fifth consecutive season. Rather than committing to one player and developing him through the years. “The fifth consecutive season that the Steelers will have a different opening day starter at the quarterback position. Fifth consecutive season that in the most important position, you will have a different opening day starter,” Acho exclaimed, visibly frustrated by the way Mike Tomlin is handling the situation. Acho went so far as to call the current situation a car crash and said, “We are all witnessing this car crash and ain’t nobody calling an ambulance, trusting that somebody else gonna do it.”
With Rodgers getting an endless rope from the Steelers while pundits and fans breathe down his neck, Mike Tomlin will be under immense pressure. And if handling the pundits’ criticism wasn’t enough. Tomlin also had to bear the brunt of Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw, who seems furious at the idea of Rodgers joining the team.

Terry Bradshaw fires at Aaron Rodgers amidst rumors
Aaron Rodgers just can’t seem to bring himself to say yes to the Steelers. Despite all the rumors around the market regarding the free agent signing for the team, there’s no update yet. Upset by this, Terry Bradshaw has shared some strong words for Rodgers.
By the looks of it, Bradshaw has just had enough with the rumors linking Rodgers to the Steelers. Heck, he even went on to call the team’s interest in Rodgers “a joke“. Bradshaw, this time around, went up a level and tore into Rodgers. “That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there,” Bradshaw said while making it amply clear that he believes this move should not be done.
At the same time, Bradshaw has a soft corner for the 2022 first-round pick, Kenny Pickett. “I liked Kenny Pickett,” Bradshaw said. “I liked him at Pitt. And I know him, I know what he’s like. And when they got him to Pittsburgh, here’s what they didn’t do. They didn’t protect him … they didn’t get him an offensive line. They wanted to run the football. But they didn’t have an offensive line that could protect. And they didn’t have weapons. He had no wide receivers to speak of,” said Bradshaw while maintaining that Pickett should have been given more time and a longer rope.

Now that the Steelers have only Mason Rudolph as a known face in the shed, they are desperate for Rodgers to say yes. Whether he does or does not, there will be immense pressure on Mike Tomlin and the Steelers management for how they’ve handled the situation. And with many teams having started on with their OTAs, it will be interesting to see how long the drama continues.
