The Kansas City Chiefs experienced humiliation from the very first whistle on Sunday night. The Philadelphia Eagles were moving the football down the field seamlessly. On the other hand, Patrick Mahomes’ team helplessly witnessed their own ruin. The team failed to show up on their chance to register a historic three consecutive Super Bowl wins. What could be worse than this for the Chiefs community, isn’t it? But there was bas news yet to come for them after the loss, especially for kicker Harrison Butker.

The Eagles were in their celebratory mood, enjoying the festivities of the Super Bowl for their second Lombardi win. On the other hand, the Chiefs were just sitting on the sidelines with disappointment, being emotional. However, behind all these, they didn’t know that the thieves were about to approach their locker room, creating another fuss.

According to NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, “Harrison Butker had his clothes taken from his locker room after the #Chiefs Super Bowl loss.” This surprised everyone in the Chiefs squad. Consequently, the kicker “was left wearing his towel, wondering where his pre-match suit had disappeared to.” It seems the thieves had a special feeling of animosity for Butker, right? But perhaps that wasn’t the case. As per the kicker’s statement, he speculated that “the robbers confused his locker for Patrick Mahomes’s.

Yes! The thieves might have been searching for Patrick Mahomes’ outfit but mistakenly ended up stealing Butker’s. This happened because the kicker and QB’s lockers are regularly just beside each other. So, who could the thieves be? Well, reports suggest that Chiefs staffers are behind this incident.

Nevertheless, Harrison Butker, who didn’t get the chance to kick in the Super Bowl, remained in Chiefs training gear after the shower. This surprising incident prompted many to recall Tom Brady’s stolen SB51 jersey, which was recovered in Mexico a few months later. And this time it would have been Patrick Mahomes’ but ended up being Harrison Butker’s.

Who is behind Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s home burglary?

In October 2024, burglars targeted the Kansas City-area homes of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce. According to the police reports, this incident happened at Mahomes’ home shortly after October 6 midnight. Later, on October 7, Kelce’s home was burglarized, with thieves stealing away a total amount of $21,000, including $20,000 in cash.

Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, didn’t confirm what was lost, but he made sure to express his frustration in public. He said, “Obviously it’s frustrating, it’s disappointing, but I mean I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation’s still ongoing, but obviously something that you don’t want to happen to really anybody but obviously yourself.

On a positive note, no injuries happened in either of the cases, and police have a suspect. Security expert Mike Barbier said, “This is a sophisticated operation, it’s not some guy that’s going down to the local pawn shop….It doesn’t surprise me at all that this crime spree that is going across the entire country is designed by some very sophisticated people in somewhat of a cartel.

So, all in all, these incidents appear to be a highly intelligent crime ring. And as per police officials, it’s the work of the members of a South American crime ring. If you’re a Chiefs fan, it’s really the wrong kind of ring to be talking about right now, huh?
