The New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers has finally been activated off of IR. Earlier, the star QB wanted to return to the team for the playoffs. However, that dream was shattered as the team suffered a massive loss in Week 15 that removed them from playoff contention. But, this did not stop the Jets from adding Rodgers‘ name to the active roster as Nick Bawden, the veteran Full Back was released. This move from the Jets led to a lot of outrage from the fans online.

However, per NFL Insider, this decision of the Jets is “a pretty cool solution, ” as it will inspire the teammates, given Rodgers’ impact. Along similar lines, Ex-Packer James Jones also sided with the QB, against the selfish claims during the Herd show with the host Colin Cowherd who shared a different opinion.

Colin Cowherd sparked the conversation with James Jones by claiming that he didn’t like the trajectory of Aaron Rodgers’ career over the last 3 years and pointed out that it has been more about the QB than about the whole team as a collective. Cowherd expressed his distaste for the whole thing and said, “I don’t love that.” However, Jones clearly wasn’t in agreement with the same.

He said, “Aaron has been all about the team.” Per James, Aaron Rodgers is doing this to revive the Jets and pay them back for whatever they did for him during his rehab. According to James Jones, Rodgers’ gestures of running around and doing everything in his power to return to the field is because he appreciates the team.

Commenting strongly, Jones voiced, “This is an Achilles injury. You should be sitting here saying hey, I’ll be back next year, you know. But for you to be on the practice squad running around and you know, trying to let everybody know that you’re ready, like I truly believe if this team had a chance to make the playoffs, Aaron was coming back to help his team, strictly because he loves those people in that building and what they have done for him.”

Further commending him on his efforts as teammate, Jones expressed his liking toward Aaron Rodgers. For Jones, the 4x NFL MVP’s true aim was in the interest of the team. However, this confidence and love received by Rodgers still hasn’t shut down rumors concerning the release of Nick Bawden. And many speculate that Rodgers addition to the active roster might be the reason for the same

As of week 15, Nick Bawden was ruled out of the roster due to some complications with his knee. Maybe that was the reason as to why he was ejected from the roster. However, soon, the news concerning Bawden being laid off so that Rodgers could have a spot in the roster to practice hit the internet.

It is salient to note that being activated from the IR doesn’t mean that he will play this year, or in this season. For a lot of people, this decision did not seem to make a lot of sense. Many NFL enthusiasts believed the decision to not be a requirement anymore as the Jets are out of playoff contention. Nonetheless, it has been an unfortunate spell for Bawden this season.

Basketball has stuck with me ever since I was a kid. I remember watching Kobe Bryant sometime in 2008 and being blown away. Like every kid my age, I was utterly taken aback by his moves and abilities as an athlete.
