Just a few days are left before the NFL trade deadline. Many teams are still looking for some blockbuster moves. And GM Howie Roseman of the Philadelphia Eagles isn’t different. Most recently, Roseman grabbed the opportunity and turned the dream into reality by trading the veteran safety Kevin Byard.

The 48-year-old general manager, known to have a genius mind, has repeatedly proven this theory. After correcting Carson Wentz’s contract and bringing Jalen Hurts as the starter, Philly has seen multiple positive results, all because of Howie Roseman. This time again, he stole a two-time All-Pro safety Byard from the Tennessee Titans. However, it seems there is still more on his mind.

According to a report by an NFL insider, Dov Kleiman, the Eagles’ GM, Howie Roseman, is still looking for some trades ahead of the NFL trade deadline on October 31. The tweet reads, “I’ve talked to tons of NFL teams around the league and it’s like ‘Yeah, Howie’s calling, of course, Howie is calling.’ and Howie is not done, by the way.” The 5-1 Eagles sit triumphant at the top of the NFC division; however, Roseman is looking to add more players on their defense after the team sustained a handful of injuries in the defensive backfield.

In particular, the team’s safety players were a matter of concern, as free safety Reed Blankenship was ruled out for Sunday’s game with a hip injury. Then safety Justin Evans was on injured reserve after his knee injury. Furthermore, slot corner Avonte Maddox (torn pec) and Bradley Roby (shoulder injury) were also out for the Miami Dolphins showdown.

However, till now, no confirmation on any other player’s trade has been revealed by Roseman. Amid all these and Philly’s injured players’ worrisome situation, Roseman brought in veteran safety Kevin Byard for now.

Just eight days before the trade deadline, the Eagles and Titans made a deal on Monday. The Eagles picked safety Kevin Byard in exchange for their safety Terrell Edmunds. But why did this trade happen? GM Howie Roseman has always been devoted to improving his 53-man roster with high-caliber players, and bringing Byard into his squad is the latest example of his devotion.

The team wanted to upgrade their 18th-ranked pass defense and were also finding options to replace the injured safeties. Meanwhile, on the side of the Titans, it seems they are turning into sellers during this trade period.

So far in this season, the Titans have a 2-4 troubling record, and with the replacement of Byard, the team could see another experienced safety in Edmunds, who could become a great asset for the Titans.
