It was all good for the Bengals’ Chase Brown against the match-up with the Dallas Cowboys until he scored a touchdown. Wait, what? A touchdown should be a celebration, right? But what Brown did after the touchdown was hilarious. But what’s more funny was his reaction when he learned that he could be fined for such a controversial TD celebration.

It was AT&T Stadium and you know what this stadium is known for – it’s red Salvation Army kettle. Players can’t hold themselves back from celebrating a TD by entering the kettle. This decorated kettle is always kept in the corner near the end zone. Surprisingly, the Bengals #30 celebrated his 19-yard touchdown by entering into the infamous kettle!

But Chase did not know he could be fined for it. When reporters asked about his take on potential fine, his reply was hilarious. He said, “I’ve everybody do it since I was a kid. So, [I was] like, screw, I’m gonna do [it].” But when he was informed about how he could potentially get fined, he continued saying, “Do I really…I hope not. I don’t make enough for that s**t.”

During the conversation, Brown also mentioned, “I think Z got fined.” He was talking about Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys. Elliott was fined for the same celebration at the AT&T Stadium in 2018. His celebration was comical. After Dak Prescott’s TD, Ezekiel put Dak in the kettle and also took $20 from a fan on the sidelines and threw it. For this act alone, Z was fined $13,369.

But what’s more amusing is that players love doing this kettle celebration even if they are aware of the fine. Sometimes team owners also like it and Jerry Jones is no exception. Jerry also showed interest in picking up the fine. On the other hand, Chase wasn’t ready for a fine.

He has signed a contract with the Bengals for a pretty low amount. However, one unique trait about Chase is his determination and that is what has made him a recognizable running back.

Chase Brown: Contract, stats and more

The RB has signed a four-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals worth $4,126,156. His average annual salary will be $1,031,539 and a base salary of $915,000 for 2024. This is way less compared to the hundred-million contracts for other players. But it’s still decent for a rookie.

Brown was picked up by the Bengals in the 6th round of 2023 NFL drafts. Before that, he used to play college football for Western Michigan University. Though he was born in Canada, he grew up in Florida. The RB has earned accolades like Jon Cornish Trophy and Second-team All-Big Ten.

In the current season, he has scored a total of six touchdowns for 735 rushing yards. His best performance for the season was against the Carolina Panthers on September 29 where he scored two important touchdowns at the right time. His speed, sharp decision-making, and, most importantly, his dedication have brought him success, while many more good things are coming ahead for him.
