Stefon Diggs, known for his exceptional skills as a wide receiver, was traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans in a blockbuster deal. On a recent episode of First Take, Shannon Sharpe expressed his unwavering support for the Buffalo Bills despite losing star receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

Sharpe firmly placed the Bills above the Texans in the AFC hierarchy, citing his belief in Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Despite acknowledging Houston’s notable additions, Sharpe emphasized Allen’s potential and the uncertainty surrounding both teams.

When questioned about Houston’s ranking in the AFC, Sharpe responded, “Well, I think they’re clearly behind Kansas City and Baltimore in my estimation.” He further stated, “The uncertainty with Houston leaves me…I would say probably fourth or fifth. I’m not so sure I’m putting them in front of Miami.”

Sharpe’s confidence in Buffalo stems from his belief in Allen‘s ability to lead the team. He acknowledged the challenges facing Buffalo, including changes on the defensive side of the ball, but remained optimistic about Allen’s. He said, “I still, I still believe in Josh Allen. Let’s see what they do in the draft.”

In defense of his position, Sharpe highlighted the potential of other teams in the AFC, including Miami and Houston. However, he argued that Buffalo has yet to reach its full potential and that Allen’s leadership could propel them to success.

Smith challenged Sharpe’s stance, questioning Buffalo’s ability to compete with teams like Houston, especially considering their recent acquisitions. However, Sharpe remained steadfast as Josh Allen has solidified himself as one of the league’s top quarterbacks since his breakout season in 2018. But the questions remains: Can Diggs departure create an issue for the Bills?

Josh Allen’s performance has propelled the Bills to become one of the most successful teams in the NFL, trailing only the Kansas City Chiefs in regular-season wins during that time.

In the last session, following a victorious game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where Allen showcased his dynamic skills both in passing and rushing, attention now turns to the future of the Bills’ offense. Despite the win, Diggs’ absence looms large, prompting speculation about how Allen will cope without his primary receiver.

However, to compensate for Diggs’ departure, the Bills signed Curtis Samuel in free agency, but questions remain about the overall depth of the receiving corps. With offensive coordinator Joe Brady at the helm, the Bills are expected to shift their offensive approach, emphasizing shorter passes and exploiting the strengths of their current roster.
