Rumors are circling around that the Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley might be fired after tonight’s matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. This seems to be the aftermath of their previous disappointing performances. In the AFC West division, the Chargers are resting at the third position. Going 5-8 with four games remaining, they seem on the downward path.

After the Raiders game, they might look to revamp their coaching line. The Chargers’ defense has successfully shown it can handle ordinary offenses, but when it comes to the best, they falter.

The ProFootballTalk Twitter account shared the news that Staley might get fired after the game against the Raiders. However, these are only rumors. No official announcement has been made about the same. Football fans will have to wait and watch out for what happens next.

ProFootballTalk wrote, “Only question left might be whether Brandon Staley gets fired tonight or tomorrow.”

After the Carolina Panthers‘ head coach Frank Reich and the Raiders’ Josh McDaniels, Staley could be the third head coach in the season to get fired. But the focus is now on the matchup that will happen at the Raiders’ home stadium, Allegiant Stadium, where both the Raiders and the Chargers are holding almost zero chances of their playoff qualifications.  

Los Angeles Chargers’ starting quarterback, Justin Herbert, is reportedly out for the rest of the 2023 season. This adds to their list of problems. Coach Brandon Stanley believes Easton Stick will be a great replacement. But with him being relatively inexperienced, he might face some troubles.

The crucial regular season matchup between the Chargers and the Raiders

The matchup between the Raiders and the Chargers is going to be special for many reasons. This matchup will be the first game in NFL history where an all-Black on-field and replay crew will officiate the game. Moreover, it will be the first time three women will work on the game, with one on-field and two in the replay booth.
