The Kansas City Chiefs have been a dominant force this season, holding their place as one of the NFL’s most formidable teams. Known for their explosive offense led by Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have also seen their defense step up, helping them maintain their spot at the top. With a playoff push in sight, the team is now awaiting the return of some key players! Charles Omenihu is the one being talked about.

After 10 long months, Chiefs defensive end Omenihu hinted at his return with a simple but cryptic tweet: a snake emoji. Yep! That’s it. Nothing more. Well, the Chiefs, gearing up for their Week 11 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, could be welcoming back Omenihu as well as running back Isiah Pacheco, both making strides in recovery. According to FOX Sports insider Jordan Schultz, Kansas City plans to designate both players for practice this week.

Among those sidelined is defensive end Charles Omenihu, who’s been recovering from a torn ACL sustained in last season’s AFC Championship Game. Omenihu’s absence has been felt, especially since he recorded a career-high seven sacks in just 11 games last year. His powerful presence on the field as a pass-rusher added depth to Kansas City’s defense alongside Chris Jones and George Karlaftis.
“He’s close,” head coach Andy Reid noted, hinting at a hopeful return. With Omenihu sidelined, the Chiefs’ defense has relied on others, including recent addition Joshua Uche, to step up in his place. However, fans and the team know Omenihu’s ability to disrupt plays at the line of scrimmage is irreplaceable.
As the Chiefs eye the postseason, they’re eager for Omenihu’s energy to rejoin the defense, adding much-needed strength to their lineup.
