Joe Burrow and the Bengals have lost to Lamar Jackson and the Ravens by 6 points. A classic eye-for-an-eye scenario came forward in a power-packed game, and damage happened on both sides. Burrow is ruled out of the game and marked questionable due to a right wrist injury. On the other hand, the Ravens’ TE Mark Andrews is ruled out after a left ankle injury. However, the man in the spotlight, Jackson suffered an injury in the first quarter but despite that, he buckled up, rushed forward, and broke a record that no one had broken in their first 6 seasons.

Jackson, who continues to dazzle NFL fans with his ‘Lamarvellous’ moments, has now taken over the NFL cementing his name in the sport’s history. And this time, it is not for his slinging abilities, instead, he has broken a record for rushing the ball down the enemy lines. Some posts from Pro Football Focus and NFL Rumors reveal something that might put Lamar Jackson in the MVP conversation as the game against the Bengals concluded 34-20 in Ravens’ favor.

The Ravens have defeated the AFC North Division with a crushing 34-20 victory. Lamar Jackson became the only quarterback to rush for more than 500 yards in each of his first six seasons. As the Ravens are nearing a win, Jackson has shown why he is an important piece to the Ravens’ offense. He had a 695-yard game back in 2018, then in 2019, he doubled down on his rushing and came out with 1,206 rushing yards. He repeated the same thing in 2020 when he came out with more than 1,000 rushing yards. Come 2021, he rushed for 767 yards, and in 2022, he rushed for 764 yards.

This makes him eligible for other roles in the Bengals offense as well, considering how he can use his legs just as well as he slings the ball. Following the Bengals game, Lamar Jackson will be 4 all-time in rushing yards as a quarterback. In this game against the Bengals, Lamar Jackson was tackled by Logan Wilson and suffered a minor injury. He returned after some time. Before he got injured, he had 60 passing yards and 15 rushing yards.

The Ravens may have won this battle, but Jakson’s reliable TE Mark Andrews got injured and was ruled out of the game, all because of Bengals’ Logan Wilson’s controversial hip-drop tackle. The Ravens are leading, but per the latest developments, Ravens’ WR Odell Beckham Jr. was also sent to the locker room after some complications with his shoulder. The Bengals are doing an amazing job of keeping the Ravens at bay, but it is very inconsistent.

In the first quarter, Mark Andrews took a huge hit when he was tacked in a hip-drop by Logan Wilson. That tackle ruled him out of the game as he suffered a left ankle injury. The apprehension that the Ravens’ TE might be in for a long absence has turned into reality. The team’s coach John Harbaugh revealed in the press conference that Andrews would be out of the season. The apprehension behind the hip-drop tackle will now be taken more seriously, as the NFL was already in the process of taking serious measures about the play. Whether it will be banned or not remains an unanswered question.

One take at a time

Basketball has stuck with me ever since I was a kid. I remember watching Kobe Bryant sometime in 2008 and being blown away. Like every kid my age, I was utterly taken aback by his moves and abilities as an athlete.
