“To any kid out there that wants to make it in sports or in life, you have to be respectful, do well in school, respect your elders, and treat people right.” These words, once spoken by Elgton Jenkins, came straight from his heart. Before the Packers Center became a two-time Pro Bowler, and even before he earned the Kent Hull Trophy in college, he was a simple kid with a big dream. Elgton Jenkins is the son of mother Delandra Jenkins and father Elgton Jenkins Sr. Delandra has been a pillar of support for Elgton throughout his football journey. Elgton is well known for his philanthropic endeavors, and his mother’s support for his ventures is also evident. About Elgton’s foundation, she had once said, I love the kids so much, and each year will get better and better—if it’s the Lord’s will.

As for his father, Elgton Jenkins Sr. has always had a major influence on his life. He has taught Elgton the values and importance of dedication, grit, and hard work. When Elgton made the switch from college to the NFL, Elgton Sr. also shared his pride in his success. “When he did get called up in college and high school, we had a chance to go do things with him that we probably didn’t know that he was going to go to the NFL, but he was doing things in that direction, to point him to the NFL. We kind of knew that he was going to try and grind it out and make it to the next level.

Elgton Jenkins has two siblings. He has a sister, Indigol Jenkins, and a brother, Jerry Jenkins. There is minimal information about Elgton’s siblings. However, it’s evident that they, just like their parents, have played a major role in supporting Elgton throughout his career. Delandra Jenkins and Elgton Jenkins Sr. are both American Nationals. Elgton himself was born in and raised in Clarksdale. He was also a standout at Clarksdale High School as well as at Mississippi State University. It was here that Elgton honed his football skills. He has always been a versatile player, and with the Packers, he has continued that role. He has started many games for the Packers from four different positions.
