The “Monday Night Football” on ESPN witnessed a sideline reporter expansion this season. The famous sportscaster Katie George has joined the sideline reporter crew along with Lisa Salters and Laura Rutledge. She will be making her debut in week 2 as a part of ESPN’s doubleheader. But this is not the first time Katie will be joining a show as a sideline reporter.

George, 31, has previously held a similar sideline reporter role with FOX. She is Miss Kentucky 2015 and a former collegiate volleyball star at the University of Louisville. After joining the ACC Network in 2019, she got the recognition she deserved and has made her way up at the WorldWide Leader. And in January 2022, George finally got married to the love of her life.
George contributes to ESPN’s broadcasts of college football, Premier Lacrosse, the NBA, and the UFL. She even hosts a video podcast on Formula 1 racing called “Unlapped”. Her reporting career started with WDRB in Louisville as a sports anchor. During her college career, George won the 2015 ACC Player of the Year award.

George is married to former American soccer player Paolo DelPiccolo. It was a destination wedding set in Beaver Creek. The couple was wed in a traditional Catholic ceremony. They both shared a common interest in sports, with George having been a volleyball player and now covering the NFL. But the NFL isn’t the only sport that she has covered.
Born on May 28, 1991, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, DelPiccolo is a retired American soccer player. His full name is Paolo John Prince DelPiccolo and is known for his decade-long senior career with several clubs. He has played as a midfielder for famous clubs like Montreal Impact, Louisville City FC, and many more. In January 2024, DelPiccolo retired from professional soccer, and since then, he has taken the full-time coaching role at Louisville City FC youth academy.
During 2009 and 2012, he played four years of college football at the University of Louisville. In 2013, he was drafted by the Montreal Impact in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. This was the beginning of his senior career. He went on to win two USL Championship titles with Louisville City FC and even grabbed four Eastern Conference titles.

How did Katie George and Paolo DelPiccolo meet?
George and DelPiccolo have been together since their college days. They met at a party, and it didn’t take long for the couple to bond over their shared love for sports. While talking about their first meeting, George once said, “We can’t agree on who was more into who!” But just after three months, they had to transition into a long-distance relationship.
After graduating from the University of Louisville, Paolo had to kickstart his professional soccer career and moved to Germany, where he signed with Eintracht Frankfurt. This is what marked the beginning of their long-distance relationship. After 4 years, the couple was back in the same city. And finally, after dating for 4 years, Paolo proposed to George on a ski trip in Breckenridge.
