This offseason, the Pittsburgh Steelers made a bold move, trading star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and bringing in veteran cornerback Jalen Ramsey. So far, this move has paid off. Ramsey has been impressive in the secondary for the Steelers squad, which is sitting at 3-1 heading into Week 6. But after the Week 4 hamstring injury against the Minnesota Vikings, he was expected to miss several weeks. But now the Steelers have something to cheer about.

After being listed as “questionable” all week with the hamstring injury, Ramsey has been upgraded to “probable” and is expected to play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

Despite being cautious in interviews, Ramsey’s tone throughout the week was optimistic. The bye in Week 5 clearly helped in recovery. He did some light stretching with the team on Wednesday and Thursday, and after a full day of practice on Friday, the Steelers announced the change in his status after the walkthrough on Saturday.

“I never want to miss any type of playing time,” Ramsey said. “I love the game, love to be there for my teammates, so any chance I get to help that, I’ll take the opportunities.”

So far this season, Ramsey has accounted for 14 total tackles (8 solo), 1 interception, and 4 passes defended.

While there’s no confirmation as to whether the CB will actually take the field or be a spectator on Sunday, the cornerback has been appreciative of the discussions he has had with the coaching staff about his chances.

“They’re still the bosses,” he said. “They have the authority. I have to listen to them, just as much as they have to listen to how I feel. … We’ve been having good conversations, good dialogue about how things have been progressing.”

Steelers vs. Browns injury report

While Jalen Ramsey returned to practice on Friday as a full participant after missing the previous two days with the injury, the Steelers will be missing wide receiver Calvin Austin III, who has been ruled out after sitting out all week with an injury.

Even if Ramsey doesn’t wear the cleats, the secondary is still in solid shape with Joey Porter Jr. set to make his return after missing the last three games. Here is the detailed injury report of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns.
