The Cleveland Browns’ 37-20 victory over the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football had two causes for celebration. One, with the win, the Browns had extended their three-game winning streak to four. And two, they had secured a Wild Card playoff berth after the win bumped up their record to 11-5. However, not everything was joyful over at the Browns’ camp.

They also had reason to be sad over an injury to a key offensive weapon. Quarterback Joe Flacco, who had a stellar night, spoke to the media about the game. He also addressed why the team was not entirely happy even after the win.

Speaking to the media after the game, Flacco said, “It’s a shame that Elijah kind of got tackled on his head there.” How terrible was the hit? The wideout had caught a pass from the QB when he was tackled hard by the Jets’ linebacker, CJ Mosley. When he crashed to the ground, his head hit the field, and he lay motionless on the ground.

Before he crashed out of the game, Moore had caught five catches for 61 yards and had even recorded a touchdown. His contribution to the team’s win deserves even more recognition because he did it in the absence of wideout Amari Cooper, who would have taken some of the defensive pressure from him. The Jets’ defense concentrated all their strength on Moore and still could not stop him.

Since the game, there have been no further reports on Moore’s injury status. It seems we will have to wait for the team’s injury reports to be released to get more information about his status in the game against their divisional rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals on January 7. The Bengals are at the bottom of the AFC North, while the Browns are in the second position.
