Jake Browning’s Emergence Post Joe Burrow’s Injury Turns Out to Be an Early Christmas Miracle for the Bengals

The 27-year-old magnificent QB Joe Burrow was considered irreplaceable by many. However, Jake Browning has lifted the Cincinnati Bengals’ spirit and playing strength ever since he left the backup QB role after Burrow’s injury. Browning has become an overnight sensation in all of football.

In the future, all backup QBs will be compared to the levels of the 27-year-old Browning. After steeping on for injured Burrow in the clash against the Baltimore Ravens, he hasn’t looked back. With Burrow confirmed to be out for 6-8 months, will Browning be the face of the Bengals?

Back in 2019, the Minnesota Vikings signed a young Browning as an undrafted free agent. He remained in their reserve and practice squads for the next two seasons. Finally, he was cut in August 2021. But was soon picked by the Bengals and things haven’t been the same.

Throughout his career, Burrow has suffered from injuries and it has been Browning who steps up on those occasions. But none have been as special as this time around. Truly a Christmas miracle in the making.

With Browning playing as the starter, the Bengals are 3-1 this season. This run of exceptional wins has put them back into the playoffs’ contention. But the road ahead is still a tough one to navigate as the Bengals face their divisional rivals from the AFC North and the defending champions in their next three games.

Browning knows the job is yet not done

Currently at the 6th position in line to make it to the playoffs in the AFC. The Bengals have a trio of tough competitors in front of them. They lock horns against the Pittsburgh Steelers next as they vow revenge for a loss earlier this season. A victory here will balloon their chances from 42% to 61% of making the playoffs.

But Browning and Co. will have even tougher competition later. Their last two games of the season are against the Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs and their divisional foes and the favorites to go to the playoffs, the Cleveland Browns.
