Jalen Hurts is terrible at the playoffs! We’re not saying this. The numbers say so. He might be a top 5 quarterback during the regular season. But once he enters the playoffs, he’s not the same player anymore. We don’t know if it’s the nervousness or what. But in the four playoff games that he has played, he has a 2-2 record. In 2021, he lost his playoff debut. Then, in 2022, he cleared the Wild Card and Divisional rounds. But when it came to the Super Bowl, he fell flat on his face.

Now, the team is headed to their third set of playoff games under Hurts. But his tanking the postseason games is not something he picked up in the NFL. He had this trait right from college.

The numbers point out just how badly he performs. During playoff games, his pass completion rate has been 62.3% for 837 yards. And he’s recorded 4 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 6 sacks. The opponents are not going to take you seriously after they see this. After the Super Bowl, San Francisco 49ers kicker Robbie Gould actually took a jibe at him. He said, “If you make Jalen Hurts play quarterback, you’re going to have a pretty solid day on defense.”

Let’s go back to his college days. And unfortunately, they were no better. He played for Oklahoma State University in 2019. Hurts managed to lead his team to the semifinals, but then he crumbled. He lost the game to LSU and just completed a little over 50% of his passes.

“Definitely Not”: Nick Sirianni Shatters Opinions of Benching Jalen Hurts Amid Eagles’ QB’s Health Rumors

Two years before that, he was playing for Alabama. This time, he led them to the finals. But he was so atrocious, that coach Nick Saban had to bench him. But it seems that his team is not ready to give up on him anytime soon.

Will he let go of his top-five ranking after this season?

His teammates say, “No way!”. CB Darius Slay showered praises on him. “He’s a guy that is not scared to make the big play.” He said that Hurts does not like to play it safe. “He knows how to be a one-play guy or he can drive the ball 15 plays and do whatever. That’s what makes him so special.” And on Monday, he will get his chance to rewrite the narrative about him.

The Eagles failed to secure a #1 seed this time as well. They will be taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unfortunately for him, he’s also battling a finger injury. Can he manage to shut down the Bucs and make some big plays? This is his third straight year making it to the playoffs. He may be out of the MVP race as well, but a winning record in the 3 games will convert his 0.500 record in the playoffs.

I am a hardcore believer in the ?Mamba Mentality?, which certainly applies to the NFL. The sport is not just about physical prowess but also demands a powerful mindset. Growing up, I spent time with athletes on the neighborhood soccer field.
