Not only fans but also the former Philadelphia Eagles Jason Kelce is tired of the state of officiating in the season right now. The retired center took to X and wrote, “Ball don’t lie!! Not only did the official make a poor holding call on Faalele, but they missed a penalty on the Bucs, my man Linderbaum got his legs cut out in the open. they outlawed that years ago. #MNF”

Let’s discuss the holding call on Daniel Faalele that negated Lamar Jackson’s touchdown. The tape shows the Ravens Offensive Tackle trying to stop a Buccaneers defender while Lamar Jackson carried the ball. There was a holding call on that play and the 2x MVP touchdown was overruled by the officials.

Astonishingly, Faalele didn’t hold the Bucs defender at all and it’s outrageous to know that the Ravens could have had an extra double-digit lead over the Bucs if it weren’t for that call. Similarly, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers touchdown was negated by the officials as well.

56 seconds remained in the first quarter when the Bucs were up by 7-0. Baker Mayfield threw a touchdown pass to Chris Godwin. But it was negated due to an offensive holding penalty on Tristan Wirfs. As a result, Tampa Bay couldn’t convert the re-down and had to settle for a field goal.

The Baltimore Ravens were up by 17-10 by the end of the first half, but the score differential could have been much lesser if it weren’t for the bogus officiating. But the heinous officiating didn’t stop there.

The Baltimore Ravens are under a spell of bad luck

Jason Kelce’s thoughts mirror here as well. Remember the play where Zay Flowers was injured? That was a hip drop tackle that could have ended in a broken foot but again, it was ignored by the referees. Crazy how the NFL had been on a hip drop tackle red alert all off-season but failed to act on it when it mattered the most.

Zay Flowers caught a pass from Lamar Jackson and juked the Buccaneers’ defense every step of the way until an opponent hip-dropped him from behind. Flowers got up. Initially, he felt no pain. But then it hit him. He went on the sidelines and fell down. Later, they saw Flowers nursing his pain, but he returned to the game.

Again, if you look back to the video, Flowers could have broken his ankle. But the officials threw no flag when it mattered the most. What’s your take on officiating this season? Let us know in the comments.
