If any rookie has performed really well up to the expectations, that has to be Jayden Daniels. He has been breaking records this year. In September 2024, he was also selected as the Offensive Rookie of the Month. But the week 7 game brought unexpected challenges. Against the Panthers on October 20, 2024, he suffered a rib injury in the first quarter, after which he was ruled out for the entire game.

While talking about the possibility of playing in the next game, he replied, “I want to play but not my decision.” Well, he’s right, as the team wouldn’t want to risk any further injury to their rookie QB.

He has been their silver lining in this season. In seven games, the signal-caller has led them to five wins and two losses. Though he didn’t play against the Panthers, the team did fine. The backup quarterback, Marcus Mariota, did his job well, going 18 of 23 for 205 passing yards and two touchdowns, leading them to a 40-7 win.
While talking to reporters after Friday’s practice, Jayden Daniels expressed hope of playing in the week 8 game. But he knows the situation. He said that coach Dan Quinn needs to feel confident about letting him play. It would be a treat to fans if he gets to play.
The week 8 game was one of the most awaited games of the season.

Jayden Daniels vs Caleb Williams, who will win?
NFL also knows that fans are waiting for the showdown between the rookies. That’s why it changed the schedule of the Bears–Commanders game and gave it the prime time slot of 4:25 ET. However, the reason behind postponing the game might not be completed, as Daniels is still dealing with the rib injury. It might cause heartbreaks.

In 7 games, Jayden Daniels has 127 of 168 passes (75.6% completion) with 1,410 passing yards and 6 touchdowns. On the other hand, Williams has 13 of 199 passes (65.3% completion) with 1,317 passing yards and 9 touchdowns. However, the latter has only 2 interceptions, while the latter already has 3 more interceptions.
With such new talents in the league, fans are pumped up to watch their intense athleticism and quest for the Trophy. However, the injuries are part and parcel of the game. And the coach and the locker room wouldn’t want to put their future in danger for one game. Some fans are still hoping he will play. We’ll keep you updated with the latest news about it,
