Last season was a breakout year for Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who impressed the league in his rookie campaign. Even during his time at LSU, Daniels was known not only for his playmaking. His disciplined approach to physical maintenance was impressive, too. From using Normatec compression boots to following strict hydration and cold therapy routines, he treated his body like a finely tuned machine. His approach helped set him apart in a league where injuries are common.
In 2024, Daniels became an exclusive partner with Nike. By April, he had taken on a new role as the face of Nike’s collaboration with Hyperice, promoting their latest innovation: the Hyperboot. Designed to transform athletic warm-up and recovery, the Hyperboot integrates Normatec Dynamic Air Compression and Hyperheat technology, promising performance-level support for serious athletes. And today, Nike dropped some exciting news about this partnership.
Hyperice showcased Daniels in the boots on Instagram with the caption “always in the lab,” introducing the product with: “Jayden Daniels. Introducing Hyperboot.” Daniels isn’t the only one hyping up the Hyperboot, but he’s definitely one of the key faces promoting this next-level tech.

Heads up, though—these kicks are expected to come with a pretty hefty price tag. According to Nike’s website, the Hyperboot is designed to help athletes perform at their peak during both training and competition. And Daniels is all about it. Here’s what he had to say about the gear in Nike’s official announcement:

“The Hyperboot represents everything I look for in my preparation: cutting-edge technology that delivers real results,” said Jayden Daniels, officially repping Nike and Hyperice. “I’m meticulous about incorporating the latest innovations into my training, and the way this device combines precise heat and compression technology has taken my warm-up to new heights. The most important ability to have as an athlete is availability, and the Hyperboot is an integral part of my routine. It’s the first piece of tech I reach for before hitting the field—a true game-changer in how I prepare my body to compete.” That’s dope.
Recovery is essential for staying in peak condition—not just for football players, but for athletes across all sports. That’s why Jayden Daniels has made it a priority. He recently shared how he incorporates the Hyperboot into his post-workout routine. With a $900 million project backing it, this collaboration is clearly on another level. The technology even impressed former Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden.
During a podcast appearance with Daniels, Gruden brought up the Hyperboot, and Daniels didn’t hold back, calling it a “game-changing” tool for recovery. The Hyperboot officially launches in North America on May 17, available through Nike, Hyperice, and select retailers. We can expect an international release later this year.
What’s your perspective on:
With Purdy's $265M deal, how soon before Jayden Daniels demands a similar payday?
Have an interesting take?
As for competition, could a $265 million NFL quarterback pose a threat to Jayden Daniels’s spotlight? That remains to be seen.
Brock Purdy’s contract: A game changer for Jayden Daniels?
B͏r͏ock Purdy, th͏e ͏San Francisco 49ers’ starting quarterback, just signed a deal with the team on Friday, reportedly worth $265 million over five years. Purdy and the 49ers went 6–11 last season. Yes, injuries played a role. But the season also highlighted how much Purdy depends on a fully healthy roster to thrive. It’s worth noting that he was the very last pick (262nd overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft.
As soon as the news broke, one question immediately came to mind: What kind of deal will someone like Jayden Daniels aim for now? It’s a fair question. If Daniels pushes to earn every dollar he’s worth, could the Commanders eventually face major salary cap challenges?
For Purdy, success seems to depend on both his performance and the health of those around him — it’s a collective effort. With the Commanders, though, it feels like they win because they have Jayden Daniels. Not solely because of him, but you get the idea.

In 2024, Daniels mentioned that offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury had a significant impact on the offense. And while it’s fair not to draw direct comparisons, Purdy isn’t Jayden Daniels. Purdy’s stats reflect a solid, if not spectacular, quarterback. He led the 49ers to the playoffs in both 2022 and 2023, posting a playoff completion rate of 62.6%. In the regular season, he recorded 64 touchdowns and 9,518 passing yards over three seasons. His career passer rating stands at an impressive 104.9 — a number many quarterbacks would envy. So, is Purdy worth $53 million per year? He definitely is.
Meanwhile, Commanders fans may be eyeing Daniels’ contract situation. He’s signed through 2027, with a fifth-year option that could keep him under team control through 2028. His current deal averages $9.4 million per year, with $37.7 million guaranteed — a far cry from the league’s top earners.

So, when does Daniels join that elite tier? And when he does, what will his annual salary look like? The numbers are intriguing, but there’s more to the story. In the end, fans don’t remember players for their contracts. They remember them for how they perform and what they bring to the game. That’s the bigger picture.
