In a special edition of 4th&1 with Cam Newton, the retired Carolina Panthers quarterback spoke out on his thoughts on the prospective 2024 NFL draft picks, while also analyzing their strengths and weaknesses. Upon coming to Jayden Daniels, the free agent stated, “I would say his game reminds me of Russell Wilson”. Expanding on the same, he laid bare the evident similarities in the duo’s passing accuracy, scrambling, and mobility.
“When I look at him it’s more or less, he can hurt you in many different ways,” stated Newton while reminiscing about being surprised by Daniel’s body frame being taller than his expectations. Thus, the draft prospect’s stature as a true dual-threat quarterback mirrors that of Wilson, whose one of the trademark moves is playing outside the pockets. Finally, both of Newton’s choices also display similar composure under pressure and a deep-ball accuracy, adding weight to their likeness.

Washington Commanders pegged as favorites to rake in Daniels
Carrying a player rating of 90.9/100, Jayden Daniels is an ideal top-ten pick for the 2024 NFL Draft. With a 40-yard dash time of just 4.50 seconds, he even contends for the top three choices. However, as of now, Washington Commanders stay at the top to select the quarterback at No.2 overall. Although, he may also have a connection with the Las Vegas Raiders having played under Coach Antonio Pierce from Arizona.
As far as outside probabilities are concerned, Jayden Daniels can land a spot with the Minnesota Vikings or the San Francisco 49ers, who have just built up their new quarterback lining. Additionally, the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, as well as the New York Giants could also have their eyes on the star player to bolster their line-up.
