Hold onto your hats, Cowboys Nation! Just when it seemed like panic was about to set in with your top cornerback and wide receiver both nursing injuries, it looks like the cavalry might just ride in!

NFL insider Jon Machota dropped a gem on X, revealing that Big D owner Jerry Jones has all but confirmed that CB Trevon Diggs, who took a little detour to the IR this week (ankle scare), is on track to play against the Steelers. The 1053thefan station confirmed the news that Diggs will be playing Sunday’s game. Given the situation, Jones remarked, “He gave us a little scare there yesterday at practice.”

But let’s rewind a bit. Dallas fans were sweating bullets as both Diggs and CeeDee Lamb (ankle injury) were missing from practice. Fortunately, things started shaping up for good. Owner Jones announced that the Cowboys’ dynamic duo would likely be ready for Sunday’s clash. And if Diggs can’t make it, then Andrew Booth will be ready to get on the field in Diggs’ place. Less than ideal for sure! But the team can just hope things turn out right.

For a team aiming for glory, having CB Diggs ($97M deal) back in the mix is crucial. He’s had 10 tackles and an interception so far. And CeeDee Lamb? Well, he’s had a bumpy ride too (nine receptions for 151 yards and a TD in two games). But when Lamb and Dak Prescott sync up, magic happens. If they can catch the same wave on Sunday, we might see Lamb morph into the game-wrecker he’s meant to be.

But here’s the kicker: despite all the good stuff, Big D’s still facing challenges—and Jerry Jones has said, it’s “very fair” to put some blame on him.

Dallas’ owner Jerry Jones takes the heat

Well, well, well—Jerry Jones owns up the slow start. Sitting at 1-2, Big D’s splitting up with finger-pointing, but for Jones, it’s more of a thumb-pointing situation.

Having watched his team drop two in a row and allow the third-most points per game this season, he’s feeling the pressure. A WFAA-TV poll revealed 70% of fans are pointing the blame squarely at the owner. When asked about the fallout, he shrugged it off with, “That’s very fair,” on 105.3 The Fan. He knows the deal: “No decision is ultimately made here for what I either have acquiesced [to] or approved.”

But don’t count this owner out yet! Jones still believes Dallas’ got a shot. “I think we have a chance to improve on this, and that’s the big thing,” he said, flashing that trademark grin. “We’re not hitting on all cylinders. If we were, that’d be real concerning.”

So, while panic may be setting in for fans, Jerry Jones is keeping his cool and gearing up for a showdown. Can the Cowboys turn their season around? Time will tell.
