The entire offseason, Dallas Cowboys owner and GM, Jerry Jones, kept sitting on CeeDee Lamb‘s contract extension. Fans requested the owner to reconsider his choices, but he didn’t budge. But Jones finally gave up! The receiver forced him to sign a deal. He has secured a 4 year, $136 million contract extension with $100 million guaranteed. And now, it’s the fans’ turn to laugh.

A fan took a jibe at the GM by mentioning, “Jerry Jones finally woke up.” Another one also mocked him and wrote, “Jerry finally does something (that he could’ve done months ago).” One fan went extreme, making fun of Jones’ age and tweeting, “JERRY JONES TOOK HIS MEDS THIS MORNING.”

Jones was under pressure from all sides, from fans, coaches, and players to bring CeeDee Lamb back into the scheme of things. But he would have saved this much embarrassment if he had signed this deal weeks ago. However, many fans are welcoming the news. At least they have their superstar with them. While congratulating the WR, one fan tweeted, “Happy for Lamb.. Dudes earned every single million,” another one wrote, “Ceedee lamb gets his bag.”

With his new deal, the WR will make $34 million yearly, only $1 million short of Justin Jefferson, the highest-paid NFL WR currently. However, he has received a $38 million signing bonus, a record among the WRs. His agent, Tory Dandy, has negotiated the perfect offer. Now, the race against time begins! In the next 48 hours, the team has to choose 53 players. And this deal just sealed one spot on the roster.

QB Dak Prescott is also looking for a contract extension. This is his last season with the Cowboys. However, his one peculiar trait is a block in new deals. While CeeDee Lamb refused to attend any practice drills, the signal-caller has been a regular at the camps. He has tried his best to keep the team morale high. The comments by a (anonymous) defensive coordinator will only make things hard for the QB.

In The Athletic’s 2024 QB Tiers, he was included in Tier 2. A DC, who voted for the list, “I have always given Dak a 2. When I did it this year, I gave him a 3. He proves year in and year out that he cannot get it done (in the postseason).” He has never won a Super Bowl in his career so far. But he never gives up.
