Did the Dallas Cowboys fail as a team this season? Well, every fan wants to know how Jerry Jones built a team like this which failed so badly. They already had so much cap money that they could have formed a roster that supported each other. While these are big allegations, it seems the billionaire appears to have a solid response. So why was the roster not balanced?

For those who have missed it, Jones recently appeared on 105.3 FM and highlighted the team’s construction. The billionaire described how he spent the cap scrutinizing every aspect. He made certain that the money invested by the team did not go to waste and also looked at the cap expenditures of rival teams. Including the Eagles. After all of this, the billionaire formed the team and signed major players like CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott.

Jerry Jones stated, “I for sure make comparisons with the cap status (of other teams) around the league with where they’ve got room to grow the cap. … I do that all the time. I observe every club very carefully. I obviously look that over and apply it to us and where we spend our money. That’s why we (signed Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb) this year. We knew they were cornerstones of now and in the future.”

This was not just the Cowboys’ explanation but also Jerry Jones’s response to their comparison with the Eagles. The GM claimed that Philadelphia does not plan for the long term and remarked that investing a large sum of money for a short period of time is never a wise idea.

More than that, the Eagles are on the same route Jones predicted for them a long time ago. The billionaire’s statements show that Philly is definitely going to have problems. And even Stephen Jones shared an identical picture of the team.

Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones believe the Eagles will fail in 2025

You know what they say like father, like son. The Jones have often justified their team’s cap spending and other issues. But you know what? During this time they have not failed to take shots at the opposing team. Stephen Jones was also on 105.3 FM, where he painted a future painting of the Eagles. And oh man! It’s not looking good.

The team will have 25 contracts that will expire, and re-signing them will cost a lot. Stephen Jones explained, “I know everybody has their different battles with the cap that hit at different times. Philly will have theirs coming up where they’ll have to make tough decisions.” As of today, they are 13-3 and considered one of the favorites to compete in the Super Bowl. But what are they going to do next year?

Jeffrey Lurie, the owner of the Eagles, is likely considering significant decisions. His planning is truly completely different from Jerry Jones’. And this is why maybe the team’s planning can affect a few seasons rather than just 1. So, what are your thoughts? Do you believe the Eagles’ cap-spending strategy has made next-year planning difficult?
