The New York Jets just won the game against the Houston Texans. The Texans couldn’t get into the Jets’ territory till the third quarter. CJ Stroud had a bad game, and the Jets, by some miracle, dominated the Texans. Zach Wilson just redeemed himself with the game’s conclusion.

The Jets dropped three bombs on the Houston Texans and have broken a record of sorts. Rich Cimini’s tweet on X sheds more insight into the matter. After a couple of tough days, the Jets decided to put Wilson in charge, considering how Tim Boyle and Trevor Siemien weren’t as good as the Jets wanted them to be. And now that decision is looking to be the right one.

The Jets break a record after they reinvest their faith in Zach Wilson

Per Cimini, the game against the Houston Texans has become the first time this season that the Jets scored back-to-back touchdowns in consecutive drives. This happened twice last year in the week 12 game against the Bears and in the week 6 game against the Packers back in 2022. Believe it or not, Zach Wilson is at the forefront of it.

Wilson threw a 15-yard pass to the WR Randall Cobb, resulting in a TD. Another touchdown came in when the WR Xavier Gipson ran for 9 yards. Zach Wilson threw his second one to Breece Hall in the 4 quarter. For the first time in 19 years, the Jets have been able to score 3 touchdowns in the second half. So far, Zach Wilson has a completion rate of 75% and he is having a phenomenal game.

Will the Jets recover from a bleak season?

The game might just be the best game of Zach Wilson’s season and they took over the game by a huge margin. The Texans’ defense did not show any potential while the Jets did everything they could to stop the Texans. And they did not just succeed, they obliterated their rivals. The Texans relied heavily on CJ Stroud, but Wilson and Co managed put a stop to him as well.

The game has been one of the most disappointing ones of CJ Stroud’s career as he was able to complete just 10 of the 23 passes he has thrown. Add to this, the Texans’ WRs have just been able to receive for 28 yards or so.

Before being ejected from the game because of concussion protocols, Stroud didn’t make much of a stride. He was sacked 4 times and came out with a pass completion rate of  43.5%. The Jets took over the Texans by a landslide with a final score of 30-6. Are you happy to see the Jets performing well after a long time?
