There are times when you think it couldn’t possibly get any worse for the New York Jets. And then another Sunday rolls around, and somehow, it does. Another loss, another round of blank stares in the locker room, and now they’re sitting at a brutal 0–6 after an 11–13 loss to the Denver Broncos. Cornerback Sauce Gardner has officially had enough, and he called out the locker room.

“I can’t process it right now,” Gardner said. “But as a player, I’m tired of those quiet locker room moments after the game. That’s never good at all. I don’t like losing. I don’t like losing at all,” he added.
Can’t really blame him. Six straight losses, a locker room full of silence, and no signs of life. But newcomer CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr. is trying to keep things positive. “The sun gone shine soon brother. Know im riding with you 4L,” he wrote on X.

Nice sentiment, but the sun hasn’t risen over the Jets in a long, long time. And calling a turnaround unlikely would be putting it kindly. No NFL team has made the playoffs after starting 0–6 since the 1944 Green Bay Packers.

Sure, every football fan loves a good underdog story, but this doesn’t feel like one of those. The Jets haven’t been unlucky; they’ve just been bad. Flat. Lifeless. There’s no fire, no urgency, and head coach Aaron Glenn hasn’t found a way to light one under this roster.
Yes, the defense really stepped up this time, limiting Broncos’ quarterback Bo Nix to just 174 passing yards and their rushing game to just 3 yards per carry. But the offense? It never got going.
Garrett Wilson insists on a mentality change
After yet another loss, wide receiver Garrett Wilson insists that the Jets need to embody a fearless mentality if they want this season to get any better.
“I think we’ve got to truly have a ‘we’ve got nothing to lose’ mentality,” Wilson said. If that’s how we feel, it’s got to be obvious. If you’re out there as a player, you should feel like, ‘oh, yeah, let’s go.’ Even on the TV, I feel like y’all should see that.”
What fans are seeing is an offense that looks terrified to take risks and is getting punished for it.
The Jets managed -10 net passing yards. That’s beyond embarrassing. QB Justin Fields took way too much time releasing the ball and got sacked 9 times. That’s not the “nothing to lose” mentality Wilson’s talking about. That’s just, well, a losing mentality.
“As a fanbase watching the team and the media, y’all should be able to tell we’re playing like we have nothing to lose,” Garrett Wilson added. “I don’t think that was evident today. I think that’s where we’ve got to… we’re 0-6. Let’s let it fly. I’ll say that.”

Wilson’s been the one consistent spark on this offense all year, leading all AFC receivers in catches and yards heading into the game, tied for first in touchdowns. But even he could only manage three catches for 13 yards on Sunday. His streak of three straight games with a touchdown came to an end, too.
But he isn’t wrong. The season’s already slipping away, and at this point, what do they have to lose? The playoffs? That ship has already sailed. It’s time to let it fly. Take chances. Experiment. See what actually works. Because, unless something drastic changes soon, this team’s next meaningful game will be the first one of next year.
