The New York Jets couldn’t break their losing streak (0-6), and if you’ve been listening closely, you’ve probably lost count of how many times Aaron Glenn has said “disappointing game.” After every loss, the same two words come up like clockwork.

After Sunday’s defeat to the Denver Broncos in London, Glenn didn’t miss a beat. The pain of being winless is real, but the head coach still trusts Justin Fields. When asked if Fields will start next week, Glenn shot back, “What kind of question is that?”

Fields was sacked nine times and managed just 45 yards through the air in their 13-11 loss. A valid question after all. Still, Glenn went on to explain. “Sometimes this league is like this, and there are guys that have bad games. That doesn’t mean you just bench them. Come on. You know better than that.”

In short, the Jets are willing to take another chance on Fields.

That game felt like a punch to the gut. Despite being down 0-6, Glenn credited his team’s fight: “I thought our guys fought their a—- off.” But fighting alone doesn’t win games. “Obviously wasn’t good enough. It’s tough being close,” he admitted.

The Jets barely moved the ball, managing just 82 total yards, with Fields pressured constantly. “We didn’t finish the way that we needed to go and get this win.” It stings when you’re that close but can’t seal the deal.

The Broncos, while far from impressive themselves, found enough to edge out the Jets. Denver’s Bo Nix threw for 174 yards, just enough to nudge ahead late. And Glenn knows it. Still, he’s not about to fold this early or fuel the fire for a QB change. But if the Jets hoped to snap the skid with better defense, Sunday gave a glimmer.

Aaron Glenn breaks down the Jets’ offense and defense

The head coach noted, “Defensively, they were all over the place…But I thought our defense played well. Probably our best game with our defense.” The Jets forced a safety, held Denver to 13 points despite early trouble. It was a stark improvement over their season-long defensive struggles, allowing over 31 points per game before.

But offense was a different story. “Offensively, they gave it to us, and we all saw that,” Glenn admitted plainly. The Jets averaged roughly three yards per carry, thanks to Breece Hall’s 2.7 yards on the ground. “Our passing game was non-existent, and that’s something that we got to get better at.”

The second quarter was frustrating for everyone watching. So, it was obvious that Glenn was going to be asked how he processes this 0-6 start. “The same way I processed it when I was in Detroit. It is what it is, and you got to keep working, and no one’s going to feel sorry for you,” he said.

And he’s right about that. Wallowing won’t solve it. The Jets have two games before their bye week, and if they don’t grab at least one, things could unravel quickly.
