The New York Jets have enough to juggle as they head to face the Carolina Panthers without any wins this season. On top of that, two of the Jets’ players were handed hefty fines after their 11–13 loss against the Denver Broncos. The season hasn’t gone as planned for Jets head coach Aaron Glenn.

Jets fullback Andrew Beck was fined $7,431 for unnecessary roughness due to his use of the helmet in the first quarter. As per the NFL rulebook, the first offense carries a fine of $23,186, while the second offense can get a player fined up to $46,371. Another Jets player who was fined is linebacker Francisco Mauigoa.

He was fined $5,215 for a hip drop tackle in the first quarter. The first offense is fined $17,389, while the second offense can result in $23,186. Both the Cleveland Browns (Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku) and the Detroit Lions (Alex Anzalone and Tyler Lacy) had two players each fined. For the Broncos’ part, they walked out unscathed in terms of fines. The Jets made massive efforts, but they couldn’t break through the Broncos’ defense.

The Jets ended with–10 net passing yards, which is both a franchise low and the fewest ever allowed by the Broncos. It was also the lowest in any NFL game since the Chargers managed–19 yards in 1998.

There was also an emotional moment, with wide receiver Garrett Wilson being upset with coach Aaron Glenn after the first half ended. When asked about the reason, he revealed that he was upset about the plan. “I just didn’t know exactly what the plan was,” Wilson shared. “Once I figured it out, I was disappointed. I’ll just say that.”

Aaron Glenn’s Jets remain the NFL’s last winless team after Week 6, sitting at 0-6 following a tough loss to the Denver Broncos. In Week 7, New York will host the 3-3 Carolina Panthers as Glenn continues the search for his first victory as a head coach.

This issue with the Jets’ plan doesn’t seem to be the only one.

Glenn makes huge roster move amid injury issues

To make matters tough for the roster, Garrett Wilson is listed as doubtful with a knee injury for Week 7, and cornerback Michael Carter II remains out with a concussion.

To fill the gaps, the Jets signed wide receiver Isaiah Williams to the active roster while releasing linebacker Mark Robinson. With the team short on help on the special teams this week, the 24-year-old will be needed to step up.

Williams had struggled earlier in the season with a few costly errors as the Jets’ punt and kick returner, but he’s since worked his way back onto the practice squad and active roster. Robinson, meanwhile, contributed on special teams, making a handful of key plays for New York this season.

It doesn’t look good for coach Glenn, who is still trying to clinch his first win. Jets will rely on wide receiver Williams to contribute on special teams this week, and with injuries depleting the receiver corps, he could see snaps on offense as well. Depth issues may force the team to rotate in their fifth or sixth wide receiver.

Apart from that, the Jets have been pulling in as much help as they can. Meanwhile, the Jets activated linebacker Ja’Markis Weston from the reserve list and elevated cornerback Korie Black and linebacker Jackson Sirmon from the practice squad. Weston has been active in practice this week and is expected to carve out a role on special teams in the coming games.

With injuries piling up and frustrations mounting, it remains a big question if the roster moves can help the winless Jets finally break the curse.
