The San Francisco 49ers made headlines for their super-fast firing of STC Brian Schneider and DC Nick Sorensen. After a disastrous season full of injuries of star players like Christian McCaffrey and Brock Purdy, who had an elbow injury, ending with a 6-11 record, the franchise has nothing but to change the staff. The 49ers are looking for the best coaches who would not just fill up the space but turn their statistics over. One name is making circles for the job.

And that name is NaVorro Roderick Bowman. That’s right. Bowman is working with Chargers’ head coach Jim Harbaugh as a linebacker coach. As a former linebacker himself, he had earned a name in First-team All-Pro four times and was solo tackles leader in the 2015 season. All those accolades make him a worthy candidate for the 49ers defensive coordinator role to play under Kyle Shanahan. But there is a catch!

Obviously, NaVorro Bowman is not the sole best contender for this role. Harbaugh’s colleague has to compete with former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh. The 49ers updated the football world by saying that they had completed the interview with Saleh.

One of the best achievements of the former Jets HC and the Packers‘ current offensive consultant Saleh is that he has made two Super Bowl appearances. He won the Super Bowl when he was working for the 49ers. But do you know in what position? Defensive coordinator! Yeah, that’s why getting in competition with Saleh would be insanely tough for Bowman.

But amid taking interviews and firing coaches who just had their first year at the 49ers, head coach Kyle Shanahan has made one mistake.

Kyle Shanahan violated the NFL rule

Y’all know what the 49ers HC Shanahan has been doing since the franchise ended the season. In the post-game conference after the week 18 game, he made a huge mistake while giving updates about the outgoing staff and all. In conversation with the reporters, Kyle Shanahan said he will be promoting Klay Kubiak from passing game specialist to offensive coordinator. But… he can’t do that!

As per the NFL rules, organizations cannot promote a staff internally but they should conduct official interviews for the post. So, to promote Klay Kubiak, Shanahan should take more interviews officially and within the rules.

But now experts on Sports Illustrated have asked a genuine question. Didn’t Shanahan know the NFL rules? Well, we can’t say anything about that, but for a person who has been the son of a former NFL coach and has been in the league since 2008, not knowing these rules is a shock. Well, he might get a notice for that from the NFL, but there is no such update from the league too.

Though he is busy fitting the jigsaw for the 49ers’ next season, Shanahan should know the rules, man! To conclude, a talk about his subordinate coaching vacancies, Jim Harbaugh’s colleague NaVorro Bowman, seems in a bit of cutthroat competition with the former NFL head coach. But let’s see who gets picked up by Shanahan.
