Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were all the rage during the football season! Yet Jimmy Kimmel isn’t convinced they’ll make the cut for his Oscars opening monologue. Chatting with CNN earlier this week, Kimmel, who’s gearing up for his fourth stint as the host for the night, shared that while Swift and Kelce aren’t exactly taboo, their moment in the spotlight might have passed.
But there’s one name you definitely won’t hear from Kimmel during the Oscars: Aaron Rodgers, the four-time NFL MVP. It seems Kimmel’s decided to steer clear of bringing him up during his Oscar hosting gig.

Regarding Aaron Rodgers, who stirred up a storm by inaccurately hinting that Kimmel might be named in legal documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, Kimmel jokingly claimed, “Uh, I don’t know who that is.” Putting humor aside, Kimmel has stated he has no intention of bringing up Rodgers during the Oscars, and it seems unlikely that Rodgers will be appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in the foreseeable future.
When asked about the possibility of Rodgers being a guest on his show, Kimmel said, “Probably not.” He elaborated that it was Rodgers who has to reach out to him, because he had started the war of words. “Listen, we have some major differences in the way we think.” He stopped the reporter from further questions.

Kimmel chooses Trump instead
Politics isn’t high on Kimmel’s agenda for Sunday, but he’s keeping his options open. This approach probably means former President Donald Trump won’t be a main feature, despite Kimmel’s history of engaging with him on his late-night platform. Kimmel candidly expressed his enjoyment at poking fun at Trump, especially knowing it gets under his skin.
“One of the most fun parts of my job is knowing that he hates being made fun of and making fun of him,” Kimmel revealed. He relishes the moments Trump publicly shows his disdain for the jibes. Despite his reservations about Trump, Kimmel remains open to dialogue, expressing a willingness to host him on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “I would absolutely have him on the show,” Kimmel said. He believes there are pressing questions that need genuine answers, something he feels is lacking in most of Trump’s interviews.
