Back in early August, McCaffrey strained his calf and also endured an Achilles injury that required him to rest for the entire preseason. Fans anticipated the RB’s return during the season opener but it was unfortunately in vain.

Online sources recently reported that McCaffrey went to Germany to get his Achilles treated. A top-class athlete going out of his country to seek treatment is never a good sign, according to the viewers. If you are a 49ers fan, you can calm down knowing that your hero is back in his homeland.

Now, we can start the process of building back up,” Lynch told David Lombardi as the latter announced on X. More sources have reported that the team was looking for some ‘quiet down’ time in the media before announcing the same.

Christian McCaffrey was hopeful when the 2024 season was yet to start. In an interview, he claimed that there was “no” doubt about his return to the gridiron during their season opener. Well, guess what? The ‘doubt’ turned into a reality and we didn’t see him at all.

There might not be any rush to bring in Christian McCaffrey

Without McCaffrey, the 49ers who once challenged the Chiefs toe-to-toe, are not doing that good in the regular season. Some of you may argue that the first few games determine a team’s fate regarding its status in the playoffs. If that’s the case, then it’s high time that San Francisco starts working on its weaknesses.

As for CMC, Rob Gronkowski believes that he has the kind of record that will allow him not to stay benched for the rest of the season if he gets better. Despite being on the IR, McCaffrey is consideredspecial” by the NFL legend. However, he also praised Kyle Shanahan for being a great coach and making good calls when the roster needed it the most.
