Delayed but still under the looming clouds! Remember Jordan Addison’s July 12 incident when he was found asleep in his white Rolls Royce under heavy influence, blocking a lane on the highway near Los Angeles International Airport? Yes! The same incident in which he was “charged with two misdemeanors – driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with .08% blood alcohol content.

Hence, as a result of this incident, Minnesota Vikings receiver Jordan Addison had a court hearing scheduled for October 7 in Los Angeles County Superior Court. But a new update on this arraignment has come out!

According to ESPN reporter, Kevin Seifert on X, “The arraignment and plea hearing for Vikings WR Jordan Addison, stemming from two misdemeanor charges in July for DUI, is now scheduled for Dec. 3, according to Superior Court of California online records. Had been scheduled for Monday.” So, despite getting some relief, Addison is still under the looming clouds in this legal matter.

Jordan Addison was originally set to appear in court on October 7 for charges related to driving under the influence near LAX. Seifert had mentioned that Addison could face a potential three-game suspension under NFL policy unless there are additional serious factors. So, it was unclear if Addison would attend the hearing in person or video call since his team had just finished a game in London.

However, now that the arraignment and plea hearing have been rescheduled to December 3, the athlete will be expected to attend the hearing on a new given date. As per reports, many expect Jordan Addison to plead guilty and serve a suspension, either in the 2024 season or potentially delayed until 2025. However, Jordan Addison is prepared to face whatever the outcome may be.

Back-to-back mistakes: is Jordan Addison still learning?

After arriving at the training camp, a month after the July incident, Jordan Addison spoke to the media about the upcoming legal troubles in his life. I feel like anything that comes my way is meant to happen or is deserved.” So, what repercussions will he have to face this year?

The NFL’s policy on alcohol-related offenses typically calls for a three-game suspension for a first violation, barring any serious circumstances. But an interesting thing here is, Addison’s situation follows an earlier incident in Minnesota where he was caught driving 140 mph. For that, he pleaded guilty to speeding, also had reckless driving charges dropped, and even paid a fine worth $686.

So, when asked by the reporters if he felt he had deeper issues to address beyond football, Addison kept it simple. He emphasized that he can “learn from mistakes and keep moving forward.” This shows that he’s focused on growth despite these setbacks. But it could not be ignored that repetitive mistakes can impact his NFL career!
