Kirk Cousins and his future with the Minnesota Vikings is a little shaky right now. After a season-ending Achilles tear, the QB might have had a lot of time on his hands, and he’s spending it with his family in the most enjoyable way possible. Despite the season-ending injury, Cousins didn’t stop taking risks when the amusement of his children was at stake.

His wife, Julie Cousins, spilled the beans about how her husband spends his time at home. It’s safe to say that the Vikings QB is a pretty cool father and is doing his best to put a smile on his children’s faces, and they have a lot of fun with their father. One thing is clear: he forgot that he could exacerbate the injury while playing with the kids — imagine the fun!

Cousins’ wife uploaded the story on Instagram and captioned the video, “Their favorite past time…wrestling @kirkcousins. Which one’s your Achilles?” It shows the QB playing with his kids as he gets on all fours and says, “wrestle position,” one of his kids gets on his back, and the other one tries to tag along.

What happened next would spark laughter among many parents and football fans. As Cousins is piggybacking one of his children, the other decides to hop on his back and accidentally steps on the QB’s injured leg. Cousins says patiently, “Hey, don’t stand on my Achilles,” but children are children, so they don’t know what their father is trying to tell them. In a hilarious reply, one of the kids asks, “Which one is your Achilles?”

The Minnesota quarterback is becoming a free agent this year, and there’s no telling as to his next move. Kevin O’Connell expressed his desire to keep Cousins around in the past and mentioned that the Vikings would welcome him with open hearts if he decides to extend his contract with them once again. He signed a 1-year, $35M fully guaranteed contract with the Vikings. Can he do it again?

Peter Schrager said at one instance that he would be “shocked if they let him [Cousins] walk out of the building.” The quarterback is one of the top-rated free-agent prospects in 2024, and many teams are gunning to fill their quarterback spot with outstanding talent. The Steelers, Raiders, Vikings, and Pats are some teams in the market for a QB.
