Earlier, the Steelers traded QB Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, after acquiring Russell Wilson. And the Chicago Bears ended up trading Fields, but with this trade General Manager Poles has Fields’ interest in mind!

After a lot of shuffling, it looks like the QB market is settled for now. One of the biggest trades just got completed, with the 25-year-old Fields joining the Steelers. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, this trade deal did not bring much to the coffers of the Bears.

“Bears felt that they were doing right by Justin Fields to move him now to get him to his new team now. Despite the fact that the compensation turned out to be lower than some people thought it would be,” said Schefter to ESPN. According to reports, the Bears are getting a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft with this trade.

The compensation does seem low, but it is in line with the philosophy of GM Poles. If we do go down that road, I want to do right by Justin as well”, promised Poles on Fields’ trade at the NFL Combine one month ago. Now that Poles fulfilled his end of the bargain by doing the right thing, what will Fields’ role be at the Steelers?

Fields was drafted by the Bears in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. His skills and talents have been unquestionable; however, Fields could not taste success in Chicago. The 2X Pro Bowler thanked the franchise and the fans for their support.
