Three KC Chiefs fans, Clayton McGeeney (36), David Harrington (37), and Ricky Johnson (38), were found dead at their friend’s home. This was after the Kansas City Chiefs and the LA Chargers game concluded. The bodies were found on the evening of January 9. A fiancée of one of the men requested the Kansas City Chiefs for a welfare check. Per New York Post’s X account, the homeowner had “no knowledge” of the incident.

The police are not approaching the case through the lens of homicide for now. The main possible reason for the deaths is excessive cold. One of the men was found dead on the terrace of the house in question, while the other two were found in the backyard.

“There have not been any arrests [or] charges, and no one is in custody. There are no specific threats or concerns for the surrounding community at this time,” said the Kansas City police captain Jake Becchina when the media sought answers from him.
Despite the Chargers’ upset, the win didn’t come as sweet as the Kansas City Chiefs expected. This is mainly because of the death of their fans and because it wasn’t celebration-worthy.

The game ended 13-12 in the Chiefs’ favor. This was a stepping stone to an 11-6 regular season record. However, the Chiefs did not seem victorious after barely making it out. This is mainly because Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were resting in that game to prepare for the post-season games.
Blaine Gabbert played in Patrick Mahomes’s absence. He only passed for 154 yards, completing 15 of his 30 passes with an interception throughout the game. His counterpart, though, Easton Stick, had 28-47 passes completed in the game over 258 yards. Stick didn’t have as much experience as Gabbert, but he could get the best out of him.
