The Broncos are familiar rivals and one that the Chiefs have already beaten this season. But that was in their home stadium, Arrowhead. The game on Sunday will take place on Denver’s home turf, Empower Field. And like Russell Wilson said, “We feed off of the energy of the fans”. Indeed, in their last game against the Green Bay Packers, the Broncos clinched a 19-17 victory at their home stadium. So, two days ahead of Halloween, are Patrick Mahomes and Co in for a scary surprise?

The Broncos have a 7-year losing streak against the Chiefs in all the seven games that they have played in the last 3 years. Will a resurgent Broncos end the 7-year humiliation or will this match also go down as one more defeat?

The highlight of the Chiefs’ Wednesday injury report, was LB Nick Bolton. Bolton has been on and off this entire season. It all began with an ankle sprain because of which he had to miss three games. For his second game of the season, in Week 7, he suffered a dislocated wrist when his left arm was buried underneath Los Angeles WR Keenan Allen and another Kansas City defender. Initial reports say that he will have to undergo surgery that will see him skipping games for two months.

RB Jerick McKinnon and Harrison Butker DNP due to groin and illness injuries, respectively. However, the coordinator for Special Teams, Dave Toub, said that the kicker will be good to go for the Broncos game on the upcoming Sunday Night Football. There is also some good news in the latest report. WR Justin Watson and Safety Mike Edwards, both nursing elbow injuries, participated fully in the practice session.

The Chiefs camp is looking more-or-less healthy, except for the defense that will be missing its key player, Nick Bolton. How is the Orange Crush doing and does it have any chance of winning this game?

If the Chiefs are looking healthy, then the Broncos are at their best. Five players were listed on the injury report but neither of them had the DNP status and were, at worst, in limited participation. It looks like the team would be riding into Empower Field with full force. That coupled with the prayers of the passionate fanbase, who have supported their team through 5 defeats this season, and Denver might just clinch a difficult victory.

The Chiefs will be answering Bolton’s absence with Drue Tranquill, who filled in for him during his three misses. He has been performing well recording 3 tackles and 1 sack in the last match against the Orange Crush. If the Chiefs manage to win this game as well, they will be on top of the leaderboard, having just lost one game so far.
